Many thanks for the update.

Re: Update: 2006.05.02 - Spire, RoCP, Metropolis, Stern, mor

Does anyone realize that work seems to have halted over at One City Hall? For weeks on end now, nothing seems to be happening on the site.

Re: Update: 2006.05.02 - Spire, RoCP, Metropolis, Stern, mor

I have noticed changes over the past week (blue insulation has been applied to some outer surfaces).

Re: Update: 2006.05.02 - Spire, RoCP, Metropolis, Stern, mor

dundas square looks great! the met looks great! can't wait for murano! this is going to be a very exciting summer to watch the city grow.

i often wish i could experience the sensation torontonians less informed than us at UT must feel when they look around and realise 'wow, when did this happen?'

Re: Update: 2006.05.02 - Spire, RoCP, Metropolis, Stern, mor

I went by the Met today and had a close up view. The window cladding is particularly good and looks a lot less 'cheap' than that of other condos.

More pics....from wandering around today (June 7th).

Was it worth the wait at all? Our first Foster.

Someone should take a photo from lower Bay Street, showing how RoCP has destroyed the view of the Old City Hall bell tower that has been familiar to Torontonians for over a century.

Thanks, CN.

The Opera House looks really urbane in that shot from the University Ave. median.

Does this offend you equally as much?

Yeah, it was a pretty silly comment to make.

Re: Update: 2006.05.02 - Spire, RoCP, Metropolis, Stern, mor

Suicidal Gingerbread Man:

No.

Old City Hall was designed to provide Toronto with an appropriately grand terminus to the view up Bay Street. As such, the view was as much a part of our heritage as the building itself. There aren't many grand buildings in our city that were designed to be seen front-on like this.
