Can we forsee any reinstatement of VIA services with a liberal government as opposed to PP?

Also, at this point, VIA struggles to maintain the current schedules while its legacy fleets are falling apart. Service expansions only enter the realm once VIA starts receiving its long-haul fleet and that‘s almost a decade out…Categorically - No.
Even Alto is predicated on reduced operating subsidies (which have a different political significance than capital investment).

That would depend on what service expansion is meant. For instance, if a Calgary - Edmonton, or a Saint John - Halifax route was what was meant, then it is possible that the Venture fleet is expanded and once the Corridor order is filled, more units are ordered for the shorter routes. If we are talking about things like the southern Canadian route, then yes, it is absolutely a much longer wait. But it does beg the question - why does any government procurement take so long. And, should it?Also, at this point, VIA struggles to maintain the current schedules while its legacy fleets are falling apart. Probably layers and layers of red tape, studies, rfps etc. This is where private companies win since there's none of the above or a much more streamlined oneThat would depend on what service expansion is meant. The point was that any such service expansions critically depend on fleet procurements which haven’t been signed yet. Without them, discussing service expansions is as moot as all the other discussions you are constantly dragging us into…That would depend on what service expansion is meant. I did not start the conversation on this. Am I right that for the shorter possible routes, they might be able to just order more Venture sets? And that would be quicker than the ~10 year wait for the LDF?The point was that any such service expansions critically depend on fleet procurements which haven’t been signed yet. Hey everyone!
Posting this on here as I am at a loss for ideas.
I am visiting Hungary in June and my Cousin works for the Hungarian State Railways. I am trying to find him neat little knick knacks from VIA or possible Exporail as a small Canadian-ish gift.
Any idea where I would find things like this?
I think there's a shop in Union Station that has stuff like this.Hey everyone!

Not too sure what AI has to do with it vs random knock-off images. I'm not attesting to any of the sites. Due diligence stays with the requestor. There is some AI slop there lol:
"The image shows a Via Rail Canada train in a winter setting, presented in anime style. The train, in characteristic blue, yellow and grey colours, speeds through a snow-covered, frozen land, where mountains rise majestically in the background, wrapped in white fluff. In the anime style, the train has a distinct, dynamic silhouette, and its details are highlighted in a lively and energetic way - from intense shadows to shimmering reflections on metal elements. The winter landscape in the background is full of contrasts: white snow enters dark, frosty mountain ranges, and the sky is in grey and blue, which creates an atmosphere of peace and majesty. Winter in this image is extremely expressive, with swirling snowflakes and smoke rising from the locomotive's chimney."
I love the electric VIA Rail locomotive with a pantograph.
