I don't care about the last one - only the first!

(Oh, that's not true - I care about all 14 :) I just care way more about that first one arriving - can't wait!!)

Up at the OMSF this morning, crews were busy (again!) re-aligning the existing freight track. I wonder why they are moving it so much; this is about the 5th or 6th time it's been shuffled around up there.

The King/Victoria grade separation dome has ends now, and 306, one of GO's new Bombardier cab cars, says hi!

First Traction Power Substation (TPSS) is onsite! It will be installed this morning along the Waterloo Spur, in advance of the first prototype Bombardier FLEXITY Freedom testing here, later this summer!

Finally had the chance to check out ION construction today. Did a walk from Kitchener to Waterloo.

Not going to post pics since most are already on here, but it seems like they are progressing well. Hardly any restrictions on accessing construction sites, despite the "fencing" that is installed.

It seems like most of the major pieces are in place (e.g. intersections), and it is now just a matter of connecting the dots.

Was out of town most of the day, so missed the actual TPSS lift, but here are some before and after photos.

Catenary tensioners have been installed on either side of Columbia; this is where one OCS line will stop, and another will begin:

Here's a shot of the first Traction Power Substation (TPSS) installed up by the Operations, Storage and Maintenance Facility.

The second permanent track switch is now in place:

Further South along the Waterloo Spur, clips are up on each of the catenary poles, in preparation for installation of the hanger arms that support the actual OCS wire. It's not hard to imagine that in just a few weeks, we'll have catenary installed!
