Yup, you're right. I'd say it's built over the tracks, where Rail Deck Park is supposed to be.

I find that unlikely. Personally I am guessing it is at Front and Portland. Also Wealthsimple already have exposure though ads on Twitch, so clearly they identified this demographic as their target.

That's the site I am referring to, and it is at Portland. The Well is barely at Draper to the east.

The lot where Toyota is is to small for a stadium. You need a lot the size of Coronation park to make it work. Look at the size comparison on google, there is not much room left downtown for a stadium. Even the Portlands are a tight fit.

If it is an e-sports stadium it will have a much smaller footprint. The one in Philadelphia gives you an idea:

@AlvinofDiaspar There's been a good amount of industry scuttlebutt about this being an e-sports stadium for about 3-4 months now.

Jeez... as if Portland didn’t have enough traffic congestion as it is.

I find it hard to believe that this could make more money than a condo. So maybe the property owner is going for both. Expect this to be an imagining by an artist, not an architectural rendering.

The actual design will likely be a pair of condo towers in the lot from Front to Wellington with a 3000-4000 person venue in the podium.

I would suggest that they’re the same thing. That rendering is probably just for the announcement but ultimately, it makes no sense not to build vertical here and monetize the residential potential. The arena would go in the podium.

The height potential there is actually pretty limited because of shadowing on Victoria Memorial Square.

E sports white elephant methinks... techno geeks will change the game, and lose those bums in seats within 5 years. Unless they have a "big winner" Vegas strategy to maintain traffic/losers.
