British Columbia Public Safety Minister Mike Farnworth says the province is in "uncharted territory" with multiple storms approaching while it struggles to recover from floods and devastated transportation corridors. For some visual evidence of the latter, here's a photo gallery that makes a convincing case. Terence Corcoran points out that the trauma suffered in the Sumas Valley region is one of many since the area was drained to create fertile farmland 100 years ago, and should have come as no surprise. Terry Glavin warns politicians to abstain from empty platitudes and instead look for ways to help the people, because the suffering is real.

Edmonton back in First Place followed closely by Vancouver (rain let up for one day at least) Ottawa and then Winnipeg. Toronto is dead last again based primarily on high winds (and snowfall).

Jumping the gun I am -- weather predictions are pretty good based on the night-before guestimation (I am up to my ears tomorrow). Edmonton and Winnipeg are tied for the win, then comes Ottawa and Vancouver only because it is snowing and blowing in Toronto -- dead last.

Tallies for the Month of November:
Edmonton -- placed first 11 times (55 points), second 3 times (12 points), third 7 times (21 points), fourth 6 times (12 points), and last 3 times (3 points) -- total points for the month = 103
Vancouver -- placed first just 2 times (10 points), second 7 times (28 points), third 6 times (18 points), fourth 4 times (8 points) and last 11 times (11 points) -- total points for the month = 75
Winnipeg -- placed first 6 times (30 points), second 8 times (32 points), third 6 times (18 points), fourth 2 times (4 points) and last 8 times (8 points) -- total points for the month = 92
Ottawa -- placed first 6 times (30 points), second 10 times (40 points), third 7 times (21 points), fourth 5 times (10 points) and last 2 times (2 points) -- total points for the month = 103
Toronto -- placed first 11 times (55 points), second 4 times (16 points), third 5 times (15 points), fourth 5 times (10 points) and last 5 times (5 points) -- total points for the month = 101
So for the month of November Edmonton and Ottawa tied for first place, Toronto came in second, Winnipeg third and Vancouver last in the wonderful weather world.
