Do any of the recent zoning reforms make such a change as converting residential to retail possible?

The retail stuff isn't finished yet..........but partially, in that retail will definitely be allowed as an ancillary use (ie. ground floor of a 2-storey house), on certain lots Given the way the retail sizing is capped within neighbourhoods, I don't think you could convert a whole house of any size, and I'm not sure that would be approved since it would be the primary/exclusive use, rather than ancillary.

But it might be.......... The final version will be out in fall.

In general the lots with more substantial permissions (ie. restos) will have to either abut a major street, be a corner lot, or abut a public park. But those details are still being refined.
