I was reading this article and wondered what my walkability score is.

What’s your walkability score, and do you agree?

Here’s mine, located near Riverdale Farm. Which I don’t exactly agree with, especially the 100% score for cycling - we have zero bike lanes on Gerrard from River to Parliament, or anywhere on Parliament or Carlton. We don’t deserve a top score.

97 Walk Score of 355 Sackville Street Toronto ON Canada

Walker’s Paradise

Daily errands do not require a car.
89 Transit Score of 355 Sackville Street Toronto ON Canada

Excellent Transit

Transit is convenient for most trips.
100 Bike Score of 355 Sackville Street Toronto ON Canada

Biker’s Paradise

Daily errands can be accomplished on a bike.

Hilariously, the score for my old house in Fredericton, NB was 23% walk, 0% for transit, 29% bike. Which is one reason we moved back.

I'm 96 Walk, 83 Transit, and 84 Bike

I live a 5 minute walk to two Line 2 stations (Coxwell and Danforth), and am 100m from Danforth bike lanes, with 4 Bike Share stations less than a 5 minute walk from home. We have never owned a car in the 15 years we've lived here. It's an extremely livable area.

Not a big surprise in my case since I'm at the Manulife Centre. The bike score is a bit low, but there are fewer bike lanes around here.

Daily errands not only don’t require a car, but can be done almost entirely indoors, even by people using a walker, and I'm quite sure that's why our building is popular with older people.

I'm in Cliffcrest.

Looks like I’m anchoring the other end of the chart — my Walk Score is somewhere between “bring a canteen” and “leave breadcrumbs.”

If the Kingston Road cycle track survives the upcoming public meetings without getting torched by the anti-bike brigade, my Bike Score might actually crawl up a few digits. :)

47 Walk Score of 19 Fenwood Heights Toronto ON Canada

Car-Dependent

51 Transit Score of 19 Fenwood Heights Toronto ON Canada

33 Bike Score of 19 Fenwood Heights Toronto ON Canada

Minimal bike infrastructure.

I just read this article! I support the walker group!

Honestly, it is great for younger Gen Z to go out there and explore. Granted, all 5 of them in the article have degrees, but hey, the uncertainty in today's economy makes their lives hard.

I guess it is something to think about...

But hey who is up for a long walking journey from Union Station to Finch Station! haha
