Interesting!

Avenue and Eglinton - 63 - Current Home
Yonge and Carlton - 93 - Current Work

Spadina and Gardiner Expressway - 75 - Last Home
Steeles and Kennedy - 60 - Parents' Home
Westferry at Spindrifters - 62 - Former London, UK Home
Lees at Queensway - 42 - Former Ottawa Home
Sweetland and Somerset - 62 - First Ottawa Home

It's extremely flawed, but it's still fun to compare.

Current Toronto home in St. Clair West / Cedarvale: 52
Previous Toronto home just off West Queen West: 75
Rural home where I grew up: 8

Missing nearby hardware stores seems to skew both Toronto stores downwards.

Get the "walk score" for your home on the web

Here great is a site I just found.
It's at http://www.walkscore.com/

Just put in your address and it tells you how walkable your home is relative to usual amenities (parks, library, shopping...).

My place scored a respectable 70/100.

58/100.. Not bad for a resort community, but also there are a few things missing here.

72/100 for Hurontario & Burnhamthorpe in Mississauga.

PS: Shouldn't this be a General topic?

Wow, this site is really great.

My home scores 48/100 which does not surprise me in the least.

It doesn't matter though - I have a bike.

I got 91, "walker's paradise". I'm pleased my exorbitant rent accounts for something

94 at Jarvis and Wellesley, and it's not even counting the grocery store in the basement of the building.
