Very interesting thread.
I guess I understand better why GM was so interested in cutting back its dealer network - even though dealers are separate businesses independent from the mother corporation.
I remember John Logan Chev Olds in Brampton used to have radio spots in the 1990s on CFRB, CFTR and other AM stations with its own jingle how "John Logan cuts the mustard" - today it sits abandoned on Queen Street along with other dealerships (most of which, unlike Logan, moved to an auto mall in the northwest). The old Bramview Ford is now a condo, and moved to the automall as Future Ford.
