Maybe the media punks itself. Seems that every show on CNN opens with the Breaking News music and graphic. Perhaps if they stopped predicting the news and instead reported it they'd be less hurt when it all the stage and spin doesn't unfold the way they were anticipating.

I agree that ideally the leader should be in their upper 40's of 50's. Old enough to have wisdom from living through various political and economic conditions, young enough to still have the vigor and stamina to work the long hours needed.

Trudeau seems the exception where his maturity lags his actual age by about 20 years, and his relaxed work schedule is akin to a retired person.

Must be another symptom of his shirtless selfie delirium.

The Democrats made such a mistake nominating Clinton. Here they have an election where the Republican candidate is nearly unelectable, campaigning on division and outrageous behavior, and yet Trump is almost equal to Clinton in the polls.

Insiders like Debbie Wasserman Schultz within the Democrat Party will regret the day they so poisoned the nomination process that a candidate like Clinton who seemingly can not win by a landslide under such favourable circumstances was unofficially favoured by party apparatchik over more electable candidates.

Yeah, blame the 'uneducated' all you want for Trump*, but at least they're showing more imagination than the ossified big money structures of the established parties, who can't see past the Clinton and Bush families. Worst is the Democrats, who despite stumbling onto something new with Obama eight years ago, returned eagerly to shrink beneath Hillary's entitlement. If not for Bernie, a long shot Independent from outside the party, where was the least opposition to the idea that it is Hillary's turn (because glass ceilings or something)? It's like Hollywood, increasingly unwilling to invest in anything but established properties, brand names.

*and in the no longer impossible event that Trump is elected, a new dynasty, a new royal family. Ivanka 2024. Already as much a brand as the others, just from outside the political system. So no progress there. But at least in the moment now, he does offer some illusion of resistance to a remote insular establishment.
