Ice Castles Edmonton is back this winter after 5-year hiatus
After a five-year hiatus, Ice Castles is returning to Edmonton this winter but in a new downtown location in Fan Park.
Yup. Despite the fact that we've hit almost 10 degrees during the day here the past few days.Folks were skating in Kelowna the last few days at the rink in front of the marina.
^ Anything for Katz to save a buck. Has he asked the city to fund it yet?
OEG is apparently converting the former rink into a snowshoe park. Such a dead space too much of the time.

It is very visible, right in front of the bloody entrance! So I really find it hard to believe it was forgotten about. There could be some maintenance issue or problem, these days it can take months to get parts for things. They posted on their social media the other day, stating that it hadn't opened yet "due to maintenance", but to keep an eye on their social media for more updates when they become available. I feel like "maintenance" is just code for "oops, we forgot about it". They've basically abandoned this space for the Fan Park and, as with much of ID, that's really disappointing.
