This is from Alberta Budget 2026: https://open.alberta.ca/dataset/339.../download/budget-2026-fiscal-plan-2026-29.pdf

"Budget 2026 includes funding for the following projects:
• $152 million for Highway 3 Twinning (Seven Persons to Medicine Hat)improving access to industrial and agricultural centres throughout Southern Alberta.
• $50 million for replacing the Highway 33 Bridge over the Athabasca River, near Fort Assiniboine.
• $193 million, includes $40 million in new funding, for the design of road networks within Multiple Engineering Projects including:
− Highway 16 Six to Eight Lane Conversion (Spruce Grove to West of Edmonton)
− Highway 40 Twinning Canfor Road to Township Road 700(Grande Prairie region)
− Highway 63 Twinning (Grasslands to Edmonton)"

Where will all the ducks feed in the winter. But shit, That building has been part history as I grew up. It was always on the horizon from my home. Then when I was older and bike commuting in from St Al I would ride by it every day.

Its interesting that I still see trucks hauling to it everyday.

That should be from Jenn Hiel way at least. But would be better from the Stoney Plain interchange.

There are a couple of projects that are not part of the Yellowhead Trail Freeway programme as well:

- Beverly Bridge rehab (underway)
- 17 St NW bridge replacements (beginning this year)

Outside City limits there are several packages of work lined up:

- 8 laning from AHD to Century Road
- 6 laning from Century Road to Highway 779
- Highway 60 interchange improvements (part of 60 twinning)
- Range Road 20 interchange / 16A improvements
- Manly Corner (Highway 43) interchange rehab (underway)

There's one at-grade crossing between Edmonton and Spruce Grove at Rge Rd 270 that I hope they eliminate as part of this

Well about time someone has got west Yellowhead out of Edmonton right. Let's see how they deal with the mess at the AHD.but adding the extra lane to Stoney and 779 is great. The traffic starts getting bad right there.
60 work has already started . Tree clearing and house removal.

But I haven't seen any serveying started on the yellowhead.

I'll keep an eye on this route since I'll be heading to Jasper almost every 2 weeks.
