Yorkdale is indeed an exquisite mall and what I like about it most is how the storefronts have amazing facades. It's too bad I don't get to go there often since it's a mission to get to from Oakville

A few photos from Ladurée which opened Thursday at noon: https://www.retail-insider.com/retail-insider/2017/12/ladure-opens-1st-toronto-location

Yorkdale is coming together quite nicely, and is unlike any mall in North America in terms of its retail mix. Buscemi has opened its 3rd store in the world, and Mr. and Mrs. Italy is across from Ladurée. Next week Dyson opens -- had a peek yesterday, it looks pretty cool inside.

The mix of high-end and mainstream retailers reminds me of Somerset Collection in metro Detroit.

It's more of a mix at Yorkdale. Somerset is really two malls (one high-end, one mainstream) connected by a long bridge.

That wasn't my impression. I saw the same mix of high-end and mainstream in both parts. The north wing has Nordstrom; the south wing has Saks Fifth Avenue.

Why are people driving to Yorkdale Mall when the TTC is free all day today, December 17, 2017?
Have you seriously not realized by now that most Torontonians can't fathom not driving? It's not a coincidence that transit in the city sucks so much when for half a century local politicians have been successful in making the parasitical car-centric model of a city a priority... and then people have the audacity to call Toronto a "world class" city

For anyone outside of Toronto who's curious to see what Canada's top selling mall looks like at Christmas, check it out

Jamie Oliver's restaurant business is in trouble.

Anyone been to Jamie's Italian at Yorkdale lately? Seem busy? Anyone hear scuttlebutt as to how it is doing? My guess is that it is likely doing a lot better in Yorkdale, where it is unique in the market, than some of its counterparts are doing in the U.K., which was arguably saturated with Jamie-branded restaurants. However, have not been, so no idea what the crowds are like.

...and plenty of "Unassigned" as well

I can see the addition of a Casper store (just like in Sherway Gardens) and even an Endy store.
