Two New York City firms are coming together to bring a dual-tower complex to prime Miami riverfront property. Shahab Karmely of KAR Properties and Rafael Vinoly Architects are the names behind One River Point, a pair of symmetrical towers rising 60 storeys above the ground.

If built today, the 283-metre (928-foot) towers would be the tallest residential buildings in the city. A signature glass skybridge will house the three-level 35,000-square-foot amenity offerings. The 'resort within a resort' will contain an expansive club garden affording some of Miami's best views. Business facilities, a fitness centre and spa, and a number of lounging spaces are designed to enhance residents' living experience. The general public can also take advantage of these aerial amenities as a limited number of memberships will be available to non-residents on a subscription and election basis.

At the pinnacle of the complex on top of the skybridge, two 'sky villas' will offer 14,000 square feet of double-height living space, complemented by another 10,000-square-foot deck outside. At the base of the tower, a four-storey podium is blanketed by a cascading waterfall and infinity pool. A children's activity space, sculpture garden, and promenade restaurant will flank the Miami River.

Sales for the project launched in October 2015 with construction expected to begin late 2016. About 350 units — featuring 10 to 12-foot ceiling heights and deep terraces — are now being marketed. One of Miami's upcoming landmark developments, One River Point will add another touch of glitz and glamour to the city's sprawling skyline.
