Ground has broken at the future site of Spark, the latest in boutique condo living from Spider Investments. The 56-unit, 28-storey tower will soon rise in the Edgewater district of Midtown Miami and is set to open in 2018.

Designed by Behar, Font & Partners, the colourful luxury condo tower will feature a striking podium level, complete with a whimsical use of aquamarine and red accents, whose wavy architectural flair will give the Edgewater area development a distinct ocean vibe. Carried upwards to the roof, the curvy balconies will continue the nautical theme from top to bottom, though the colour scheme will be toned down above the multi-storey podium level, transitioning to stark white.

Marketed as a boutique condo, the 28-storey tower will contain just 56 units, with penthouse suites starting at 3,895 square feet. Built above a multi-storey parking garage and lobby space, just 19 of the tower's 28 floors will house Spark's 56 residential units, with a leg up provided by the tower's massive parking garage podium to ensure that even lower floor residents will get an ocean view.

Residents will be treated to an impressive array of amenities, including a pool, gym, spa, massage room, yoga garden, barbecue area, social room, theatre, music room, and sky terrace.

Once complete, the new development will join a host of recent rental apartments and condos that have begun to define the Edgewater district over the last two decades, as the sleepy Midtown neighbourhood, which is walking distance to the Atlantic Ocean and a quick commute to downtown, continues to transition from low-rise residential to highrise.

SkyriseCities will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
