A month since our last update, and progress at the site of the 101-storey Vista Tower in downtown Chicago has been moving along well. Soon to become the Windy City's third-tallest tower, the tri-form Vista Tower by Magellan Development GroupWanda Group, and Studio Gang is on target to reach 363 metres, its confirmed supertall status to ensure its lasting impact upon the Chicago skyline.

Vista Tower sits along the banks of the Chicago River, just steps from Millennium Park, and thus many of the city's main attractions and the Financial District. The supertall structure has been designed as a three-part tower, whose subtle undulations provide the project with a great deal of visual interest, while also allowing for maximum interior light.

The 101-storey development will eventually become home to 406 luxury condo units, designed by Hirsch Bedner Associates, to be fitted out with floor-to-ceiling windows, hardwood flooring, and quartz countertops. The 47th floor amenity deck will include a fitness centre, games room, lounge, private dining suite, and an outdoor pool and terrace.

As for the bottom half of the tower, this will be filled out by the 210-room, five star Wanda Vista Hotel - the first of its kind in the United States. Vista Tower is scheduled for completion for 2020, its massive footprint part of Chicago's ongoing building boom.

SkyriseCities will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
