Six months since we last checked in at the 101-storey Vista Tower, and Chicago's third-tallest high-rise has now topped off. At 363 metres (1,191 feet), Magellan Development Group and Wanda Group's bKL Architecture- and Studio Gang Architects-designed, three-tower project has become an overnight icon, its unmistakeable silhouette now a defining part of Chicago's world-famous skyline.

Located just east of The Loop, in Chicago's New East Side, Vista Tower is situated mere steps from the waterfront, Millennium Park, and the downtown core. The 101-storey residential tower is on target to become home to 406 luxury suites, which have been designed by Hirsch Bedner Associates to include floor-to-ceiling windows, hardwood flooring, and quartz countertops.

Upwards of 600 residents will have access to the 47th floor amenity deck, which will include a fitness centre, games room, lounge, private dining suite, and an outdoor pool and terrace. Below this point, the bottom half of the tower will be occupied by the 210-key Wanda Vista Hotel - the first of its kind in the United States.

Vista Tower is set to open in 2020, its impact upon the city centre to be felt for generations.

SkyriseCities will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
