Construction has progressed steadily on 300 Main in downtown Winnipeg since our last update. Poised to assume the role of Winnipeg's tallest tower upon completion, progress on the tower has become more and more obvious in recent months, as captured by a nearby live cam. Billed as a transformative addition to an already burgeoning downtown district, the tower is set to offer a type of residential living that has become commonplace in some of Canada’s larger metropolitan cities.300 Main, vertical progress on the elevator shaft, image via Artis REIT

Slated to rise 40 storeys (201 Portage has been the tallest in the city at 33 storeys since it was constructed in 1990), 300 Main will include a mix of residential units, commercial space, and amenities. 36 floors will be dedicated to residential space, while the bottom four will include amenities for residents as well as commercial space that could possibly be home to a grocery store or daycare facility.

Recent construction photos were captured in a series of recent stills from the Artis REIT live construction cam showing progress on the elevator shaft which appears to have reached the future 12th floor. Additionally, work upon the lobby space seems to be underway, and a large tower crane can be seen in the background.
