Nearly two months since our last update, and cladding progress at the 101-storey Vista Tower in Chicago has moved ahead significantly. Recent photos on our Forum highlight the progress to date as the three-tower supertall is now more than 3/4 covered by its signature, undulating, blue-tinted glass curtain wall.

Designed by bKL Architecture and Studio Gang Architects for Magellan Development Group and Wanda Group, Vista Tower has been given what will be an iconic silhouette amid the Chicago skyline. The three-volume Vista Tower, with each segment undulating in synch with its neighboour, creates a highly pleasing mass when taken as a whole, the 363-metre project to be the city's third-tallest.

Standing tall at the corner of E Lower Wacker Dr and N Field Blvd, Vista Tower will soon be the centrepiece of Chicago's New East Side. Just north of Millennium Park, and bounded to the north and east by the Chicago River and Lake Michigan, Vista Tower will be highly visible, its presence to be familiar to all visitors to the Windy City.

The 101-storey high-rise will soon be home to 406 luxury suites, designed by Hirsch Bedner Associates, which will feature floor-to-ceiling windows, hardwood flooring, and quartz countertops. Set for completion by late 2020, Vista Tower will be a fine addition to the city.

SkyriseCities will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
