For those who have been following Crosstown closely, are there any new hints or tea leaves from today on the opening date?
If Phil doesn't know (he wouldn't confirm '24 opening), I don't think anyone does at this stage. There are too many variables yet.For those who have been following Crosstown closely, are there any new hints or tea leaves from today on the opening date?
Do you mean to say, that this project could be pushed into 2025?If Phil doesn't know (he wouldn't confirm '24 opening), I don't think anyone does at this stage. There are too many variables yet.
no one can say until they identify and address all the defects.Do you mean to say, that this project could be pushed into 2025?
It depends on the defects themselves to the point some defects could be work on once substantial completion can be had along with the 3 months of full testing of service on the line to finally seeing that missing opening date. Only have to look at residential towers where people have moved in with work still taking place on the building.no one can say until they identify and address all the defects.
People have moved into houses without the grass nor driveway paved. Paving of driveways is best left to a year or so after to let the ground settle, and people are already living in them.It depends on the defects themselves to the point some defects could be work on once substantial completion can be had along with the 3 months of full testing of service on the line to finally seeing that missing opening date. Have done outstanding work on projects that have been turn over to the owner due to other trades holding me up from completing my work.
It would be nice to see everything 100% completed when the opening date is announce.
Maybe they have to wait until underground water is flowing freely to see where the leaks are in the stations and tunnels so they can fix them.I am scratching my head about what kind of work ought to wait until spring. Construction seems to mostly continue with winter temperatures, certainly concrete can continue to be poured with the right measures and protection. But frozen ground does change some things.
