It looks great. I hope they keep some round-the-clock security on patrol there.
I would hate to have you grade any of my papers! So what's up with the name "Reziliance Gate"?
The green underlighting is admittedly cool - although I am not a huge fan of the giant sono-tube looking pillar for the screens out front and how it pokes out above the top of it.. looks a bit cheap personally.
I have a buddy that went - judging from his insta stories, it went well. The invite-only opening night event seemed to go well last night, with Earth, Wind, and Fire performing to a full house. I've only heard good things from those who went.
lol yeah BCTed - you probably would hate me to hahaha - I mean sure I get it, any improvement is an improvement but still...I would hate to have you grade any of my papers!
But that said, I agree with the point about the pillar pointlessly sticking out above the video board. The screens themselves represent by far the best version of signage that the arena has ever seen, but if you compare them to the video board above the western entrance to Scotiabank Arena (I don't mean the giant giant Jurassic Park one), the sign is pretty modest. And I am bracing myself for how modest the centre-hung scoreboard might be --- it might just be upgraded screens within the frame of the little old one.
All told, super thankful that this renovation has taken place. It still obviously didn't have unlimited funding, but it is a major major reno and the city would never have been able to anything anywhere close to this on its own or have been able to book anywhere near the same level of programming.
