5-to-1 L... the preamble is another case of shaking up all of the forward lines -- is no-one getting this?

It's less about that and more about a lack of response and grit when things turn on you.

We didn't see much from them.

It's a good thing the Oilers won 5 games in a row prior to last night.

Nashville and LA both have an game in hand on us and could be within 4.

We are just coasting/sandbagging to then turn it up in the playoffs... or something.

In other news, after 20 yrs of being an Oilers season ticket holder our group is not only passing on playoff tickets, but our seasons in general.

$20k for 2 lower bowl corners along with a $28k, yes TWENTY EIGHT THOUSAND dollar commitment for the playoffs (you have to commit to all potential games) and the fact that beers are now $18+tip and food options have degrated to crappy pizza and KFC for the most part pushed us over the edge.

Kinda sad to give them up, but it was simply getting out of hand; even split 4 ways.

I'll still get a few games I really want to see, maybe even a minipack, but the fact that the organization is having record revenues and 3rd in professional sport in gross numbers is gross when you continue to extract that much from your most dedicated fan base.

It's somewhat freeing to be honest.

That said, GO OILERS GO!

^I did the same last year. I had been apart of a season ticket sharing group for all but 4 years since the first NHL season and decided I wasn't getting anywhere near full value for the $s spent. We had to watch some pretty lousy games and lame efforts over the years. I didn't mind so much when ticket and concession prices were reasonable but getting gouged for $400 plus per game and leaving pi$$ed off on many nights finally got to me. Felt kinda bad last fall but honestly haven't missed it. I hope to return one day (mini-pack or season ticket sharing) but I would like to see the gouging stop and maybe some return to a more reasonable pricing structure.

Remember the promise of Rogers Place having the best food and drink options in the league—It was supposed to be unmatched in its offerings. And the beer offerings are even more embarrassing. We're supposed to believe Blue Moon is craft beer?!

I have no issue with OEG making a profit, but ya it's gone from "healthy margin" to unbridled price-gouging greed on anything to do with this team and it's really sucked a lot of the joy out of being a fan.

I mean ffs they even cut back so there isn't even a dedicated usher per section. What's next? Have to pay for a subscription on an OEG app just to get access to the pisser? Are they going to fire Cam Moon and Bobby Stauffer and replace them with AI play-by-play and colour guys on CHED?

It's the MO of this particular ownership. We stopped going in part because the vibe of every game is "maximum extraction from your pocket book".

I was visiting family in Calgary for Easter and they just got the pricing for their first season in the Flames' new arena.... Their season tickets will go up a grand total of $100 for the entire season, a 3% increase. That's a far cry from the near 100% increase folks saw here between rexall and rogers...

But our on ice product makes a HUGE difference especially from Rexall to Roger’s……the fLamers are going from bad to worse whereas we just drafted McD and we were getting a new barn…….future was so bright we had to wear shades where fLamers fans get a new barn and a shite team…..

If fans can no longer afford to watch the on-ice product in person because the premium has moved to the gouging level, then why should they wear an Oilers jersey with McDavid on the back instead of a Ducks jersey with Celebrini or a Blackhawks jersey with Bedard?

Oeuf.

Also, what I find fascinating is that having just cancelled our season seats of 20 years that the Oilers did 0, nothing, zip to try and retain us.

There wasn't even a conversation or inquiry about how they might be able to keep us, just a thank you and goodbye.

A bird in hand?
