I like this post, and I like the way Pickles approached the whole situation. Favourite parts include the rebate dialogue, staying on the outside of things, and all the observations. I would have found the whole thing terrifying, and deeply disturbing, and I never would have gone.

This was almost as good as some of Forgotten's work. What makes it especially funny to me is that I believe Ford's horrendous mayoralty contributes to Chow's campaign. In other words Ford Nation is driving the city into Chow's arms. Also I'd love to know about some of Chow's recent...

I too have often wanted a 'hard' digital copy of this thread for UX reasons.. There are many possible solutions to getting the data. Really it all depends on UT's policies. Even if the data is publicly available it doesn't necessarily mean it's okay to copy. If the public data is okay for...

Muskoka is hardly the north, and unpaved roads are increasingly uncommon, but the pickup truck is far more common a vehicle there, than here; this seems to be the case most places outside the city though. I would argue that full time residents of Muskoka are more likely to drive a car...

Thanks! Like others, I need rehab for this thread. I think many of us spend an inordinate amount of our waking days thinking about the Fords, we could probably be moving mountains instead. I do like the fact that this thread is one of the few places where my Ford habit is dwarfed by...

This is true on my end as well. Furthermore I was able to sniff packets in my home network, and read incoming, and outgoing data. I also took a minute to observe the password handshake, and the good news is that it's obfuscated in someway, seemingly by some form of message authentication...

I'd like to take your word for it, as I appreciate your posts a lot. You might well be correct, but I'm skeptical as my UT experience does not use SSL. I have been wrong many times before though :)

If your IT guys avoid WiFi, they're cool in my books!

WiFi encryption is pretty much broken across the board, meaning anyone within range, with a little know how can sniff your packets, and possibly even hijack your session. With respect to an employer's network, they most definitely have the ability to view your clear text traffic, and in some...

That's the northern way from Bala to Bracebridge. The Gravenhurst stop suggest they took the southern route, and/or circled the lake. If they needed a BMO, my bet is they tried Bala, then Gravenhurst, then Bracebridge, which actually has a BMO. Perhaps I'm reading to much into the whole BMO...

You pretty much have to drive by the Leon's off 118 to get from Gravenhurst to Bracebridge ;)

I think you're right, especially if it was BMO. BMO is not well represented in the region, outside of Bracebridge, Huntsville, and Orillia. Ford was spotted by the BMO in Bracebridge, and it's closest to Bala. Given the Renata rumours, it's probably something personal, and/or depressing.

The idea Ford had a lackey go to an LCBO is entirely probable, assuming he's not being chaperoned, and/or tested. I don't know much about rehab, but it seems to me that someone in as deep as Ford would take longer to get to a stage where he could be 'trusted', or presented with the option of...

    Rob Ford's Toronto

Interesting, although I don't think it means anything, because Bracebridge is on the other side of the lake from Bala; there are a few LCBOs between Bala, and Bracebridge. Also the LCBO is on the other side of the street at the opposite end of the strip. It's hard not to be one minute away...

    Rob Ford's Toronto

I can get behind a lot of this, but at the same time, it's really funny that pickles has essentially (and not for the first time) written a post that is quite similar to the very posts pickles is complaining about. This post is all about pickles' preferences, and assumptions about other...
