Marigold wouldn’t be responsible for that, they would likely get city data or input and calculate the timing that way. Or it is worked into the software program they are running for the signals. Either way, the city has never fixed my complaints about timing on 111th street and it’s been 5 years...

I’m still skeptical that metro NW will get funding. Based on the AB master rail plan, the province will want to fund the capital line south to the airport so it could connect with a future HSR / commuter rail (assuming it happens). Bad timing of course, but StA won’t fund an LRT that would bring...

    Capital Line LRT

Are they conducting renewals on the black mud creek bridges as well as adding an additional lane? The southbound one is completely closed. Can’t imagine traffic here at rush hour. Also curious how they’ll build the AHD bridge. Renderings would say they need to erect steel and then place the...

The progress they are making so far in January is quite impressive, usually the slowest construction month has seen lots of work progress. I’m optimistic

If anything I think it shows how much better things go the second time around. Like mentioned before, lots of people at MIP worked at transed, so they took the lessons learned and have clearly made improvements.

Still not sure if I believe they’ll have all the track laid by the end of the year

Idk they’ve had those lanes closed for 2 full construction seasons. Seems excessive, plus they could have just waited till spring, or poured the concrete in the fall? It’s not like they’ve made huge progress since end of November, all they’ve done is work on the switch and put up some Davit arms

Reopen the lanes, just to close them again. Doing trackbed in that area doesn’t even require lane closures either

    Misc. Transportation Projects

We had the 2024 incident at the E.L smith WTP, but outside of that, nothing major. EPCOR is crazy regarding upkeep and monitoring of their infrastructure. I remember working at both their WTP’s and the equipment and infrastructure is world class. As the article I posted mentioned they are very...

How Edmonton is building a water system that lasts A good article published by EPCOR’s CEO. Seems like they had a similar idea to me…. Funny

Seems very ambitious to have all track laid by the end of this year especially if they no longer pour track slab in the winter. I guess they could form and place rebar over the next couple of months to prepare for the warmer months but seems like a stretch. Maybe that cool form work traveller...
