I believe the demolition started yesterday at the west end. My local facebook page said the Caddy car would be auctioned off.

TTC: Flexity Streetcars Testing & Delivery (Bombardier)

At least parts will be readily available for these two units. :) Seriously though, there was a quote somewhere that confirmed a lot of sewage was left in the units when they went back to Leslie. 99% sure the water contained sewage.

Costco - 2000 Eglinton Avenue East

Is this in addition to the 42-46 Overlea Blvd. that they took for approval last year at City Council? http://lttaplus.ca/news-flash-costco-yes-gas-bars-no/ They need to do something as the Warden/401 location is a disaster...

Was walking by there the other day and it looks like they are beginning to prep for demo of the first story. They now have a Priestley Demolition excavator outside now.

"uninformed, navel-gazing dufus" - Hahaha...good one. I had fully read this thread...but the fact is, this project is now 16+months after breaking the ground, and they are still a ways from beginning the actual building process. Almost no other developer takes this long to excavate a hole...

16 months since they broke ground...and we now have a hole. At this rate, it should be complete for the next condo boom in 2023.

Anyone know why they are tearing up the skating rink area? Will it be done by December?

I noticed an ad in the paper saying that Amsterdam Beer is moving in the fall to 'an undisclosed location.' I guess it makes sense if they are going to demo the 1 storey section at the back. Perhaps late fall, early next year is when we will start seeing action. Hopefully this won't be a...

There was a Genie Lift and some temporary fencing all along the south side of the building this past weekend. Are we seeing some initial inspections? Is there any news on the OMB application?

Is it just me, or have they been taking a LONG time to excavate this site? They really started drilling in the fall, they seemed to redrill it all again, and then they started excavating. I am sure Anpro would have done it in a third of the time.

    Toronto The Bond | 138.68m | 42s | Lifetime | Core Architects COMPLETE

It is already closed...the place already looks gutted, so it has to have happened sometime during January/early Feb.

The artwork really detracts from the building. It blocks the future Commercial space entrance, many of the plexiglass covers have green moss growing under it, and some of the lights have already burned out (likely due to moisture) and they don't seem to get replaced.

The reason that John Tory was picked was because he has many contacts within all levels of government (Municipal, Provincial, and Federal) and is pretty well respected. The reason that OP has failed in the past is that the various levels of government could not work together. Look to see...

Given how busy their Queen/Portland store is...I would have thought they realise the pent-up-demand in the area and get building!
