Roads: Gardiner Expressway catch-all, incl. Hybrid Design (2015-onwards)

2027 to 2030 I believe in the previous schedule. I'm not sure if that changes with MTO becoming more involved and the acceleration of some of the previous phase.

Road Safety & Vision Zero Plan

That's got a lot more to do with the terrible John Tory snow plowing contract that the right-wing council members pushed through - that impact the non-right wing wards the most.

If the lanes were even narrower, with less place to put snow, they'd clear it faster - as they did days ago on many streets. We've gone entire winters without significant snowfall. Should we really design roads based on a snowstorm amount not seen in nearly 2 centuries of monitoring in Toronto?

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

While ultimately the 4th track, what's driving that early work is a siding for storage.

And yet they've still suspended the 15-minute weekend Lakeshore GO service. (and haven't restored pre-Covid weekday Lakeshore frequencies).

Excellent idea. I can't be the only one whose not paid enough attention to the number on the board, and walked up to find I'm not on the right platform (at least there's decent signage on the platforms).

I don't know about apps, but Transee is now using real predicted times: Presumably the same data you see on the DMDs. https://www.transsee.ca/predict?s=ttcsubwaynew.5.16208

No ... it was almost half-an-hour before the departure time when I arrived on a different train. By App I mean the GO website - https://www.gotracker.ca/gotracker/mobile/UnionDeparture/LW/EX You've got me questioning myself now ... :)

Is there another spot in Union station that I'd see a screen telling me how many cars the next Bramalea train would be? Perhaps I wasn't in the York concourse, but I received that information somehow while at Union, because otherwise I'd not have bothered walking to the Bay concourse. Hmm ...

Yeah, I thought that. It's like they've forgotten lessons learned from the 1960s stations. Narrow staircases in those stations too, lack of escalators. Only 2 escalators where there should be a 3rd redundant one. Lack of redundant elevators (hopefully this is not true in the very deep...

Yes, the locomotive end is more predictable! So that makes sense. I'm not sure which is closest TBH. Though it would be nice if the system accepted the TTC tap-on as a Presto tap-off. On the other hand, the last couple of times I've received penalty fares by forgetting to tap off, it appears to...

Where? They were certainly in the York concourse on Tuesday.

I use the same information at Danforth to know not to be at the far west end of the platform when it's a 10-car train - as invariably I am there to get off for the York west teamway or the Exhibition tunnel. And at Guelph Central a couple of weeks ago, to know where to be for the 6-car train...

I used that to effect earlier this week when I caught a (rare for me) Kitchener train, and being in the York concourse with 20 minutes to spare, it said it was only 6 coaches, so I made sure that I used the Bay concourse when it was time to board, because of the short train. The number of...

Having the destination more clear would help. But I really find the line names useful myself - especially when travelling on different routes than usual.
