Looks like an update soon on provincial rail and service to airports. "Dreeshen says it aims to include proponents for a high-speed rail line between Edmonton and Calgary and to connect the two cities and their international airports."...

    Edmonton International Airport (EIA/YEG)

I'm looking at flights to Montreal in May and I see that Porter now offers direct service from YEG to YUL. That wasn't the case in November. Not sure if this was already announced previously, but good to see!

Strathcona St. Anthony School Site - 10425 84 Ave (Beljan)

What is happening to our social contracts Pet owners need to pick up their dog Sh#t Home and business owners need to keep their sidewalks clear. Businesses (once we get this latest boost in downtown population) need to start opening some retail dt And developers need to up their game when it...

It's also something that belongs on the Lotus thread, not Lilac.

Are we still going to see brick on this one? And the Lilac Park to the south has no brick?

    Commonwealth Stadium

World Cup just a few months away. Here's a look at Toronto's stadium - not exactly impressive for such a major event.

If I had my way, 108st would have been lined with 6-8-10 storey residential and The Parks towers would have been on 106st. I think most of 108st from 104ave to 99ave is lower profile and that would have looked great throughout. Don't know that it really matters much, though.

    O-day’min Park (formerly Warehouse Park)

A 'whiteboard' table top. Who figured such a thing would happen. Frustrating, though.

I think a lot of it is also the street life, vibrancy, walkability, culture, architecture overall - and of course the endless cafes and bakeries.

Here is my biggest beef in terms of inequitable provincial funding. Look at how much Edmonton taxpayers fork out for the Yellowhead (2023-26), whereas on the Deerfoot, YYC doesn't have to use any city money for the major expansion there in the hundreds of millions and nothing for regular...

Farkas' recent posts referencing Edmonton were triggering for people in our city. So I ended up reading the comments from other instagram posts he has made on the education property tax about Calgary paying more to 'Edmonton' or taxpayers in that city paying more than here (he's made a few)...

I don't disagree that saying the "Edmonton provincial government" is a shrewd political move by Farkas. But the part where he is saying our taxes going to Edmonton, I do get and is a common Alberta reference like Ottawa is nationally.

Farkas is not confusing anything. He is saying Edmonton in reference to Alberta which is no different than people in Alberta or any province saying they are tired of sending money to Ottawa. Obviously they know the City of Ottawa is not benefitting - people mean the Canadian government. In...

    Old Strathcona / Whyte Avenue

Funny you say that - as that's the point of this initiative. Right now, the City might fund BRT in the next few years, but does not plan on funding public realm improvements until the 2030s. We're worried that by splitting these into two projects over the coming decade, construction impacts...
