If the shoe fits. The point of a parliamentary democracy is that we elect governments, not premiers and prime ministers. Governments are given a mandate by the number of elected MPP's / MP's only. Now, if you are more fond of a party leader than your local MP, and vote for someone you don't like...

    Rob Ford's Toronto

    No you aren't.

    Rob Ford's Toronto

You made a jackass comment about me not being able to use google for myself, and you offered a chunk of crap study as if it was actually worth something. As far as I'm concerned, you own the stupid and unsubstantiated part of that along with whoever made the original comment.

    Rob Ford's Toronto

No, because bad evidence is bad evidence for all the same reasons. Stupid claims are stupid claims because they are not substantiated by facts and instead rest on poor quality studies carried out by people with political agendas. If you offer that kind of thing in support of your own claim, you...

    Rob Ford's Toronto

It's totally legitimate to compare the evidence he offered in support of his claim to the quality of the evidence which exists in support of the Scarborough subway. He made a stupid claim which he said was supported by studies, and when challenged, offered a SINGLE study which no one anywhere...

    Rob Ford's Toronto

No, he made a claim that there were studies. I suggested that it was bullshit, and he hasn't provided any study to dispute that. The burden of evidence is on the person making the claim. I can just as easily claim that numerous scholars have concluded the moon landing was faked. It adds nothing...

The zero percent claim is in itself idiotic and inflammatory and easily demonstrable as false. I don't have a problem when people who post that kind of useless nonsense into a discussion are held accountable for what they do. It's not that hard to take 90 seconds and look at the credibility of a...

There is no bigotry. I'm not saying that lesbians are any worse parents than any other group of people. I'm just saying that a claim that the have a zero percent child abuse rate is utterly ridiculous and deserves to be called so. Lesbians are alright with me and if the want kids they should...

I asked to see "studies" in the plural to substantiated a factual claim. You provided social-political agenda pushing disguised as a poorly constructed single study. I reiterate, just because it's the Internet, you aren't required to post unsubstantiated idiotic claims.
  10. T

    Rob Ford's Toronto

So you say "studies" and then provide a link to a single small study of a group of people who know they are being scrutinized for their whole lives by a political advocacy group. Very convincing. Having lived for a decade in the village in Toronto, I can attest to the fact that things in lesbian...

    Rob Ford's Toronto

Let's see those studies that say no lesbian couple has ever had one partner let loose and smack a kid around. Just because it's the Internet, you aren't required to make unsubstantiated idiotic claims.

They didn't win a decision to unseal anything, they overturned a provincial court order that they would remain sealed. Arguments still need to be made to determine what, if anything, gets released.
  13. T

    Rob Ford's Toronto

That wasn't a newfie accent, it was an exaggeration of what Americans say we sound like.
  14. T

    Rob Ford's Toronto

What nonsense. Rob Ford, like most politicians, got lots of special treatment. He pushed it too far, now it's out for everyone to see. Where is there any evidence that anyone other than a crack dealer and Doug Ford ever influenced Rob Ford? Conspiracies theories are stupid.
  15. T

    Rob Ford's Toronto

Stop trying to make an organized crime theory happen. It's not going to happen. Seriously, this is just dumb. He's no use to anyone with any agenda of any kind right now. Nothing he puts forward will ever move forward as a result of his influence. He's useless, and he's just floundering...

Apparently she might have done a recent stint in rehab that was mentioned, and there might have been prescription meds involved. It's definitely humiliating stuff that doesn't really need to come out though.

Going to the wall means making every effort possible. You might mean they should go to the gallows or something like that.
  18. T

    Rob Ford's Toronto

I hope there is some new development soon so thay this kind of delusional nonsense gets drowned out again.
  19. T

    Rob Ford's Toronto

Wow, a couple days without new developments and this thread gets a little delusional.
  20. T

    Rob Ford's Toronto

No, I absolutely think that he should step down for that. And I think Council should make a motion that he's lost the public's confidence because of all that has come out. I just don't think it's the place of a democratic body to urge someone to abandon their constitutional rights.
