Miscellany Toronto Photographs: Then and Now

Ouch at the loss of the Mansard @262 Euclid. And I live very close by to it too.. Not even two mins away.

Miscellany Toronto Photographs: Then and Now

I go to that Ali Baba's almost once a week! The preparer there is wonderful. Before it was an Ali Baba's, it was a Portuguese Churrasquera restaurant, and before that, proabably the then picture! I also said this before, the building on the SW corner of Bathurst and Dundas has gone through...

    Rob Ford's Toronto

He SHOULD privatize the TTC. Hong Kong, and several companies in Japan have done it and they're making money out of it. Also, do you see Hong Kong cancelling routes due to privatization? NO! Also, they're super efficient and modern.

The cloudy day makes the now picture quite bad.. I also feel kind of sad of the people that lived in those houses before they got expropriated for Pape station.

I thought the TRC was neglecting trackwork maintenance around this time, at least they're still doing a decent job on this stretch..

Toronto Toronto | The Address at High Park | ?m | 12s | Chestnut Hill | BDP Quadrangle

There goes some of the murals and the Keira Knightley art (Which I passed by over 1000 times) which was already tagged with pretty naughty words which I do not want to say here. Oh well, good riddance.

    Metrolinx: Presto Fare Card

Presto should had been implemented a while ago... I was in Guangzhou for the last two weeks and they have their own contactless smart card called 'Yang Cheng Tong' which I used to get around in their buses and subway most of the time.. Heck, you can even use it for calling on public phones, the...

Miscellany Toronto Photographs: Then and Now

I apologize for my last message. I never knew that part of the neighbourhood was actually improving after all these years because last time I went through that area frequently via school bus (elementary school years), it was pretty bad.. At least todays picture is slightly better! Some...

Miscellany Toronto Photographs: Then and Now

From fancy sexy houses to crime ridden ugly slum tenements.. Yay for crappy housing projects. I wish those houses were still there..

Miscellany Toronto Photographs: Then and Now

Sounds like this place was developed twice since the then picture..

    Next Mayor of Toronto?

No, I'm just a regular Toronto citizen like most other people here. I really don't know who to vote yet. I'll just wait until voting time.

    Next Mayor of Toronto?

Wow, if Rossi is planning to do that, can anyone say, GOODBYE Trinity-Spadina? Rob Ford, I don't like either. Yes, we need more subways, but replacing every streetcar with buses.. How do you plan to run Spadina, King, or Queen? Its been known in the past that running buses in Spadina turned up...

Yes major bump, but most of us comp nerds lost something dearly Sunday Night. http://www.cbc.ca/canada/toronto/story/2010/09/06/tor-fire-canada-computers-college.html

Miscellany Toronto Photographs: Then and Now

There is one change though, the opposite side of where you took (Canada Computers [About the same area where that Burlesque Theatre was that was posted about 60 pages ago]) got hit by a fire Sunday Night.. Found the original post. CC will be back on its feet soon enough x.x

Dundas West / Brockton / Portugal Village

I walked by that area about 3 hours before the fire started. Also, when I got home, and was on my computer I didn't see or notice smoke and I live five minutes away from Musa.

Miscellany Toronto Photographs: Then and Now

Hmm, was it overcast that day in the '50s or is that some very heavy smog? At least the now pic is more attractive. Good riddance to those warehouse type buildings..
