Do we all agree? I don't live in the area anymore, so this doesn't personally affect me, but I could see how it would frustrate those who live nearby, especially on the Lappin side. Sometimes it's the small things that could be so easily fixed that annoy people the most. It's only one private...

That's great! I was there 2 weeks ago & there was a heavy water-logged duvet (yes, I tried to drag it out) in the fountain & other garbage. Looks much better now! 😊

Fantastic shots! I wonder where the old bits of machinery on either side of the door from this shot went:

Apologies, I thought you said Hydro was waiting for someone (potentially the city) to remove an attached line before they could do anything. I'm aware of 311, just thought visual reminders and celebrations might be nice and useful too, as well as everything being in one spot (i.e., random...

Does the city not keep a list of all these "relatively small fixes that would make Toronto look less junky"? Would it help if we started a thread to report these pole issues, the asphalt patch issues, etc? Like a one-stop-shop for those city workers who check here. We could post updates and...

I think a nickname would be nice. This might not be the right forum to try to make it catch on with the general public though. I believe Johnny writes for BlogTo sometimes - perhaps an article write-up on The One with a direct poll asking about names for the corner would get the ball rolling, or...

I found out recently that we're not supposed to ask that question because people will post automatically if they know anything. Just letting you know why you got an angry react.

Indeed, from the GO train you can barely see the old part: But I don't mind the Gardiner even though I don't drive. I'd rather the traffic be up & away from me with the area underneath being pedestrian-oriented. The Lakeshore feels like more of an obstruction to me.

Coincidentally, I passed by OP today. West island (where Therme will go): One can barely see the sphere from this angle. They're doing some work on the pods, bridges & the west gate area. And they're doing something in the parking lot to the east of the Budwieser stage, but not sure what.

Oh, I know why it happens (but thank you for the explanation anyways), just wondered why we can't use expansion joints or something else so we don't have to worry about this. Lived in Japan for a bit & they get hotter than here (albeit not as cold), and they don't have this issue, so I thought...

Perhaps it's temporary until the developments in that area really get going. It's a slightly better use of the land than a surface parking lot at least.

I'm not sure they mean you're supposed to count forever, just when you're learning so that you can get a sense of the bare minimum distance (which should soon enough then become intuitive).

I used to commute on VIA between Guelph & Toronto and we had to slow down for the same reason on super hot days. Kinda surprised (yet not), that we still haven't figured out how to fix this... 20 years later?

Oh, missed that😂 Guess the reiteration was lucky for me then!

Said it somewhere before, but we could try the Japanese method of making people sit through a "refresher" video whenever it's time to renew their licence.
