I agree that the landscaping is pretty underwhelming, especially if you're a pedestrian on street-level. How it looks in areal photos is overrated and kind of irrelevant.

What's the future for the Conservative Party?

Replace Bernier with Trump above and your text reads as making excuses for him. Exact same thing. "It's not racism because I haven't seen the evidence" - Well, of course you haven't.

What's wrong with Mike Layton? And you'd vote conservative if he ran for higher levels of government? Yikes.

The expansion into the suburbs is becoming Scarborough Subway-esque, which is no surprise for Toronto. The fact that Carlaw/Dundas-Gerard area (or the Junction) has no stations while there's a station at the northern end of Chaplin Crescent is absurd.

"There really should be bike stations outside of every subway station..." That absolutely makes no sense. Like, a bikeshare station outside of Yorkdale station?

Tim Hortons here is open 24 hours which I don't really understand. Is it meant to cater to hospital employees nearby?

Re: Peter Milczyn - 'centrist' types typically have an inclination to become mayor's pets (Ana Bailao, Mary-Margaret McMahon...), usually in exchange of a spot on a committee. So I wouldn't be shocked if Milczyn ends up being just as useless as Grimes.

If the council reduction gets blocked by a court it'll only provide the cons with more ammo for the next election in the 905 suburban country - or even in suburban Toronto.

Agreed. The whole "downtown of Scarborough" discussion is giving me twitches.

I completely understand the negative view of Gardiner expressway neighbourhoods but didn't Chris Glover of NDP just win there? "Layton does better in the more residential single home neighbourhoods of his ward." I don't think this matters since either of them will sweep in University -...

General cycling issues (Is Toronto bike friendly?)

Toronto has so few places dedicated to leisure and tourists for a city of its size so naturally MGT is overflooded. I never go there for any purpose if I can avoid it.

    Jarvis and Dundas

So all these unsophisticated socioeconomic climbers bought cheaply in this area/Cabbagetown BECAUSE of the homeless and junkies around, and now all of a sudden shelters are a bad thing? That's just silly.

Yeah my first thought was, how is the additional car going to fit the platform? Also, I don't get how capacity increase in Line 1 would necessarily alleviate the crush at Eglinton.

I'm finding expansion to suburbs/north york a bit crazy given that very very few people can climb up the hill to uptown on these bikes. I guess they (plan to?) have a system to actively transport and redistribute bikes back up north.

Cheap publicity points with the Ford voters.

Any brewery participating should be boycotted out of existence. You didn't sell beers for $1.25 when the price floor was $1.25. If you're doing it now that it's $1, you're pandering and sucking up and you're disgusting.

Also, the provincial electorate district and the new municipal ward Malik has registered to run in are definitely not the same.
