Tarp starting to come off, first look at the finishes of the actual tower, no more brick, but looks decent so far.

the warehouse district park will take up some of the empty lots, but if you go through the neighborhood as a whole its like 70% empty lots or old vacant buildings. Edmonton definitely does not have the demand to fill that part of the city with towers on that many lots.

    Landsdowne Centre - 5120 - 122 Street - Redevelopment - proposed

lots that had gas stations need to sit vacant for years before they can be redeveloped due to ground contamination, so for the time being it kind of needs to be included.

With all of those empty or abandoned lots I'd rather shorter builds if it meant anything was built

    Edmonton | Blatchford Development | ?m | ?s | City of Edmonton

I've always thought that the more it gets built the faster the building will get. I'm a huge fan of what I've seen so far, but in my opinion the biggest thing holding it back is that no one really wants to live in a giant open muddy construction site. As more of it gets built out I believe more...

    Downtown Crime

Edmonton is a city where 9 out of 10 neighborhoods refuse to do anything to help address the cities social issues, then the people who live in those neighborhoods gawk at the poor state of the neighborhoods that are doing way more than their fair share. Central Edmonton is the epicenter of...

    Edmonton | Valley Line LRT/ Valley Line West | ?m | ?s | City of Edmonton

There are lots of lots directly north of 104th ave along 124th that are prime for development, but yeah land speculation is definitely holding them back at the moment. Aldritt gets lots of goodwill for having the "nicest" undeveloped lots among Edmonton developers, but it's been a decade I...

    Edmonton | Valley Line LRT/ Valley Line West | ?m | ?s | City of Edmonton

Its eventually going to have better transit connections than whyte ave so it definitely has massive potential

    Edmonton | Falcon Towers | 170m | 44s | Langham Developments | Arc Studio

It may not turn out great but it's definitely going to be better than a surface parking lot.

    Edmonton | Paramount Redevelopment | ?m | ?s | ONE Properties

midway is alright, but its location is awful, and its held back as a music venue by the fact that it was built as a nightclub.

    Edmonton | Paramount Redevelopment | ?m | ?s | ONE Properties

exactly the example I had in mind, the venue that Edmonton is missing.

    Edmonton | Paramount Redevelopment | ?m | ?s | ONE Properties

I'm not sure about the business case for a venue like that, but a newly built/renovated venue like that is exactly whats missing in Edmonton. Bigger than Starlight room, but smaller than the convention centre, and in a better spot and nicer than Union Hall.

The Mercury Block II | Hodgson Schilf Evans

I've heard that the plan atm is to start moving on this project before the end of the year

    Edmonton | Tower 101 | 175m | 50s | Regency Developments | DER + Associates

It's pretty incredible that a company could develop a tower as impressive as the Pearl, then spend the next 5-10 years consistently dropping the ball and creating a horrible reputation for themselves.

    Edmonton | Blatchford Development | ?m | ?s | City of Edmonton

I'm happy with this being a slow burn development if it means sticking to the initial vision of the space, the neighborhood is starting to take shape more and more and I've liked what little bits we've seen, once a few more blocks are built and they manage to integrate it more into the...

    Edmonton | The Mercury Block | 21.7m | 6s

I'm not totally sold on how this is turning out so far, hopefully these finishes that are coming really pull it together

    Edmonton | Coronation Community Recreation Centre | ?m | ?s | City of Edmonton | Dub Architects

I hope the finishes to this are nice, this is easily the most intriguing project being built in the city atm in my opinion.
