    Phone Wars

The lack of good network coverage is not really an issue for those of us who rarely leave the GTA.

    Phone Wars

I have no complaints about Wind. I've been with them for a few months now and have not had any problems with dropped calls or anything like that. I've only had to call customer service once (to recover my PIN which I forgot), and it was resolved fairly quickly.

    Bedbugs

That's a newer building is it not?

    A bigger Canada?

Even with current immigration trends, that will happen in Canada in the not too distant future. No increase in immigration necessary.

    Concord Park Place

How much are condos going for in this building, and when is the move in date? Don't forget 50 cent hotdogs!

    Baby, we got a bubble!?

In this climate I would look at low cost sector ETFs.

"Toronto’s real-estate landscape has shifted in the past few weeks"

But many people argue that "Canada is different", it could never happen here. :D

Another happy Wind customer here. Rogers/Bell/Telus are highway robbery, unfortunately there was no alternative until now. Hopefully the days of 3 year contracts will soon be history.

"Toronto’s real-estate landscape has shifted in the past few weeks"

Here's another article with some more info: Toronto existing home sales fall by 23 per cent in June Robert Ede calls it “buyer’s revenge.” After more than a decade of an unprecedented bull market in Toronto real estate, sales are cooling off. On Tuesday the Toronto Real Estate board...

    Rental question -- appliances

Well if high end appliances are important to you, I think you should hold out until you find exactly what you want. There's certainly no shortage of condos for rent in the GTA any more, and the number is starting to increase.

    Rental question -- appliances

I have never seen a condo rented without a stove and fridge, and usually also a dishwasher, washer, and dryer in newer condos. I've also never seen the price not include the appliances. If the price listed on the ad doesn't include something, it's probably hydro and/or parking. As for your...

"Toronto’s real-estate landscape has shifted in the past few weeks"

I've noticed a huge increase in MLS dots too, not only for condo sales but ones for rent too. I've been looking mostly at the Yonge/Sheppard, Yonge/Finch, Bayview/Sheppard areas and they have definitely been getting more numerous in the last few months. We should start seeing price drops soon...

Is it a good time to buy now

Re-read my post, I didn't ask why people on this forum prefer to live in an urban area, but rather why so many elderly people prefer to stay in such an expensive area. Please explain what is ignorant about that question? I also did not mention urban vs rural, there are many smaller towns that...

Is it a good time to buy now

Care to share why you think my post was dumb?

Is it a good time to buy now

Yesterday I was riding my bike down some random residential streets around Finch/Bayview and noticed a lot of people doing yard work, and couldn't help noticing that most of them were elderly. What I don't get is, why do so many old/retired people choose to live in such an expensive area as...

    A bigger Canada?

I simply fail to see why we as Canadians should want to boost immigration? In what way will Canada be a better place for those of us already here if our population were to double or triple? I don't think it would. I understand some of the points mentioned earlier, but I don't see why they...

    A bigger Canada?

Relax guys... there is no need for the rudeness, we all have different viewpoints and we can debate them without getting riled up.

    A bigger Canada?

Seems pointless, why waste resources on setting up these tests and make people go through the trouble of taking them then? If the only purpose is to determine how many people are learning the language, that can be done much easier and cheaper by hiring a market research company to do some phone...

    A bigger Canada?

And if they don't show satisfactory progress, then what consequences should they face?

    A bigger Canada?

In what ways can Canada improve its recognizing of foreign qualifications? I was under the (perhaps false) impression that we already do that, although certain professionals whose jobs can affect the public's safety (P.Engs, MDs, etc) must undergo a process to ensure their qualifications meet...
