I think that you are referring to the brutalist movement, which tried to be very functionalist, but it failed to deliver something that you can actually look at without an urge to be depressed. :D

It's kind of weird that Pope resigned, I mean when you look back at John Paul II who had MUCH more health issues and yet he never give up. Yet on other hand I see no point in having such important position, if you are unable to fulfill your duties and commitments.

I like the ceiling, it reminds me Rivendell from Lord of the Rings. And this one reminds me of Christ Church dining hall in Oxford (which was used in Harry Potter movies for the Great Hall scenes). More pics are here...

These are some of the reasons why I stopped going to movie theaters for good. Squeaking seats, people talking to each other (sometimes even on the phone) or laughing, loud eating and drinking, bad sound and inability to pause movie whenever I want to go to the bathroom or to eat something. :)...

No matter how the new buildings like, what I find sad is, that they are mostly build on the few green areas that left. I agree on the opinion of the day time thoughj, sometimes the old buildings in downtown much look like something you can see in the old movies situated in former Soviet Union.

I don't know about you, but I still find Simcity 2000 and 3000 the best games in the series, no matter how the graphics changed. Ironically, I find the newer games are succumbing to boring stereotypes much easier., maybe it's because the developers spend much more time on graphics than actual...
