    Rob Ford's Toronto

I clicked that link and read comments for about 5 minutes... I could almost feel the IQ points flying out of my ear.

Your analogy is a good one but you've missed the part where about 25-30% of the other restaurant goers actually support (even idolize) the table causing the disturbance. They hate you so much (even though they've never met you) that they love watching that table ruin your evening. Then when you...

In fairness to the campaign - you and I both know that Rob's statements were filthy lies (and the facts support that) but he hasn't legally been found guilty of that. The money is for his legal defense which seems fair enough. As stupid as I think it is I can't really say it's any "shadier"...

Personally I don't really care. If a bunch of people want to give money to a rich drug addict while complaining about tax increases and vehicle registration fees then they should knock themselves out.

They use the same summary word for word. Are they related to one another or was one person just lazy/illiterate and copied the other.

Yes that's definitely the additional angle to the "bullying" complaint that Ford Nation loves to lob around. They've fabricated this persona of poor powerless bullied Rob... but meanwhile, he's one of the most obvious bullies I've ever seen.

It does seem like an excessively small amount of money to aim for. That pays for what... like 3 hours of legal representation? They should have went big - there's more than enough Ford Nation people willing to contribute I'm sure. Also the other thing that caught my eye from the campaign...

Well the only logical answer to that is a wide ranging conspiracy involving the media party, the police, the judiciary, gawker and 70% of the people in Toronto. Clearly.

One thing I'm not entirely clear about: If Ford apologizes does this entire lawsuit thing go away? Is that how this works?

    Rob Ford's Toronto

Yeah some of that was before my time and I'm willing to concede it's pretty obnoxious. I can see why the community was sick of that.

I agree with you. I absolutely found some of Peeper's posts obnoxious - but that's because I disagreed with him. Did he repeatedly express a point of view that's contrary to the forum's prevailing opinion? Yes... but that's how debate is supposed to work. He saw the world differently than most...

    Rob Ford's Toronto

There was a time when I felt some small measure of sympathy for Rob as a human being - despite his antics and lying and the politics and everything else. I felt bad for his addiction and the family that seemed to be enabling him. That all ended with his disgusting, vile smear job of Daniel Dale...

My understanding is that the Toronto Star is going to pay the legal costs if he chooses to go that route.

    Rob Ford's Toronto

Yeah for sure. But even forgetting about the election for a second Doug is a current, sitting politician. Surely you're not allowed to walk around handing out your personal cash on the streets? And back to Rob... surely "get your brother to hand out family's cash on the streets" can't be a...

How can this possibly be legal?

    Rob Ford's Toronto

Did he actually say that Brazen 2 was ongoing? I watched a G&M video and he seemed to talk about it in past tense. But then he said something along the lines of "Our job is to conduct investigations without fear or favour and we will continue to do that" which sounds like a general statement...

I guess instead of adding people to the ignore list you could explain to us how Ford's privacy was violated (even though it wasn't).

Here's the best I can find. Unless I'm not looking at it right (which is possible) the block situation looks like it changed. Have a look at this photo from the night of the incident. One block...
