    Condo renovation questions

Hi all, I'm going to buy an older condo soon in Toronto, and I'm trying to budget some moving costs. I plan to install new laminate flooring, paint walls, and redo the kitchen. I am going to pay for professionals to do this, I did most of the work myself before and I do not want to do it again...

I walked by this site on the weekend as well. Must be a fascinating project from a logistics standpoint. Are those loading docks going to remain, or will they transition into retail? Apologies if this has been clarified before, but the Quadrangle site plans are ambiguous to me.

Can we avoid discussion on the ethnicity/legality of potential owners for these stores? This thread has had multiple negative mentions of how small or 'Pacific Mall like' stores will be in place here. Enough, we get it. The retail will soon open and we can discuss how good the stores are then...

I think it's a fine building, and I look forward to it being completed.

World on Yonge is actually in Markham.

I wouldn't judge them yet. Keep in mind those renders are from a different angle and at night. I'm interested to see the final product at night and lit up. For anyone stretching their neck, I imagine it would be a unique feature.

There was a small fire (I believe). At least that's what the Toronto Fire (unofficial) twitter account said.

You misunderstood what I said. 26 separate offices of MGS staff were combined into 222 Jarvis, along with other Ministry staff. Most of these staff were already based in Toronto (although a couple offices were closed in Oshawa). I agree that it looks bad to close offices and shift staff from...

NO NO NO! This was supposed to be secret! Hence the name!

I'm not saying more infrastructure isn't needed, and I am aware that being childless means I don't have to deal with the school issue...but the lack of a schools seems like a (relatively) easy situation to fix...If the money is there. Instead of Filion fighting further development, maybe he...

Your argument is similar to a newsletter sent out by the local councillor, who railed against new developments or proposed new developments in the area, and I found it absolutely riduclous. I've lived in the area for a little while now, and I've never had any problems with traffic or subway...

Quad copter of course. You think they can actually put a stationary camera on top of a building and point it in a certain direction? Pffft.

880 Bay Street will be torn down at some point in the future. The interior fixtures etc all need to be removed, plus clean up on the interior has yet to be completed Employees from this building moved to 900 Bay, 77 Grenville, and 222 Jarvis. The overall plan is to reduce government office...

While I can't speak to everything else in the city, arguably I think that the height for this project is just right. Keep in mind there are residential houses just 30 seconds west from this block. The towers would be much more oppressive if they were the original height. Also, considering...

Wow, sometimes the snobbish attitude on here blows me away! This is exactly the sort of thing that will bring a neighborhood together. Not specifically a Target, but strong retail that isn't exclusive to any one "class". Who the heck wants to live in a city where every place is striving to be...

Really? When you look at this building, it's horrifying to you? Do you run away screaming, or are you frozen to the spot with your expression frozen like in The Scream? Personally, I think it's executed rather well, so far. It adds a dash of complimentary colour to it's blue neighbour, and I...

I understand that English isn't your first language (you've said it multiple times) but even after spending just a small amount of time on this website, it should be obvious that good cities can have good skylines, but great cities have great communities. Or, to put it in simpler terms, it's...
