On the topic of Kensington I don't think this has been posted yet .. Preliminary renders of a new condo development (Kensington Station) from Stonebriar Crafted Homes (designed by McKinley Burkart) on Gladstone Road behind RBC to the west on the triangular parcel.

Not a big fan of how this one turned out. The grey/black cladding on the one portion doesn't look good - should have stuck with the lighter colour all the way down. Additionally the staggered windows on around the white section didn't turn out well either. Probably because they're not evenly...

I really like the way this one is turning out .. I think its street level presence is going to look awesome amongst that dense block with the St Louis, NMC, Central Library, etc.

Is this one close to being topped out?

It's upsetting how that nice looking atrium has to sit right beside that fugly parkade for the next while ... With no real signs that the second tower will be built at this time

When I first saw the brick go up on the podium, I was excited to think it might be finished nicely .. With its lack of balconies and flat appearance, I was concerned about it going full-Torode-Inglewood .. Now after seeing the cladding and clashing colours, I'm disappointed to see how it's being...

As indifferent as I am on the design, I am looking forward to seeing this one go up. It's a prominent location by the flyover and it will help tie in the EV with the rest of downtown in the skyline. EV getting it's first major retail centre will be a boost for vibrancy too, the start of it...

It's possible Harvard proceeds with the hotel portion as phase 1 given the current market conditions. Cheap labour and hotel demand are still in effect despite the economy - could be a good time to get those portions started, and then phase in the retail components while leaving the office...

I don't believe a DP has been submitted yet, unless someone wants to correct me. IIRC they're still sorted out the land-use related issues. Given the site, variety of uses on the project, and the scale it probably won't start for awhile. As Surreal suggests perhaps they'll get some of the...

I agree .. Even if the Municipal Building is opened up through the EV, there is still a gap where there isn't much but else asides from the performing arts centre
