    Edmonton | Brickyard Off 4th | 20m | 6s | Cove Properties

Seen a sign saying renters will be moving in, in September. Driving past this building exceeds my initial opinion that this place has a fantastic exterior. A very welcome addition to a bit of a dated neighborhood.

    Miscellaneous

Huge parcel of land is under construction at Campbell Rd/Boudreau Rd in St. Albert next to Century Casino. There's a chance it might just be utility work, but I recall hearing about a hotel going up here in past conversations. Tons of equipment working on site for past 2 weeks.

    Arlington Site | ?m | 33s | Kota Contracting | Der+Associates

So could a person call 311 and request bylaw to check it out in instances like this?

    Edmonton | The Flats - Rossdale | 35.05m | 10s | Parkwood | Dub Architects

So no underground parking on these?

    Edmonton | CNIB Redevelopment | 106m | 32s | ONE Properties | Wallman Architects

By my rough count, looks like they are on floor 27 or 28. So about 6 floors left to go.

    Pay Parking in Public Parks

I tend to agree with this policy. A reasonable fee for parking still makes outings to park and these establishments great value. Whether the revenue goes towards park maintenance or general revenue is fine by me. I tend to value gov't revenue coming more out of user fees, than of taxes...

    Edmonton | Rogers Place | ?m | ?s | Katz Group | HOK

Not that I'm much of an activist, but rodeo and bull riding seems like a pretty clear cut example of cruelty to animals to me. I don't want to criticize or fault people for watching, because it does seem entertaining, but I have the personal opinion that it's a tragedy that this "sport' still...

    Edmonton | The View | 76m | 23s | Westrich Pacific | Chris Dikeakos

If my counting skills are good, looks like they are working on the 23rd floor now.

For completed projects, or new projects under construction, I just click on report error under project description and Edward updates them.

    Edmonton | Blatchford Development | ?m | ?s | City of Edmonton

The picture really reminds me of SimCity. Area is zoned, roads built, and buildings starting to pop up.

    Edmonton | Holyrood Court 5 | ?m | 4s | PK Developments | EFG Architects

I love the idea of always doing better, and having innovative design on a budget. I’m not trying to say this is a great job by the developer. I just look at the surrounding buildings, and feel this building is still an improvement for the area, hence my lack of outrage.

    East Junction | 86m | 25s | Regency Developments | DER + Associates

Regency pulled the same thing with 121 West. Was supposed to be built as an 8 story and 6 story. During construction, they changed it and is 10 & 9 stories now. I’m okay with more height, but feel like they now might be trying to push things through after consultations and everything have completed.

    Edmonton | Holyrood Court 5 | ?m | 4s | PK Developments | EFG Architects

What price point are they going for? If it's for a budget build, shouldn't we expect exteriors that are largely standardized? I don't get what's so offensive about this building, especially considering its surroundings. Interiors are so much more important than exteriors.

    Edmonton Companies News & Discussion

Selling above asking is largely irrelevant. If I price my home below perceived value, I'll likely get multiple offers and my house will sell above asking. Lets say my house can sell for $400,000, if I list at $390,000 I will likely get multiple offers and sell at $400,000. If I list at...

    Edmonton Real Estate Market

Pretty amazing how slow high rise construction currently is. The only projects with finished heights over 8 stories that are currently escalating in height are Holyrood Gardens Redevelopment, CNIB Building, The View, Glenora Park, and I guess Capital Care Norwood if you want to include that...

    Edmonton | Valley Line LRT/ Valley Line West | ?m | ?s | City of Edmonton

I've dealt with this issue when I took a course on Economics of Professional Sport at the UofA with Brad Humphries. We investigated the impact of sports teams, and singular sports events on the economy. It turns out that in a lot of these economic impact assessments that reliability and...
