    “Black Box†Standard for New Cars

T1 cars have this, they store in memory how fast you were driving, when you applied your brakes, when the doors were opened, when the car was set up for driving, if the hand brakes were on and not released etc etc etc.........this tool is also used to retrive data on malfunctioning components

The T1 fleet has been split between YUS and BD line evenly. Since the YUS line is a harder line on the trains it only reasons more to put the new trains there to test them out.

The new section was built so the new trains can be serviced, it was built by an outside contractor

There might be a delay on the new trains, as of now the new section is closed. The walls and floors are so bad that they have to be redone. The whole project was a mess from the start.

TTC: Flexity Streetcars Testing & Delivery (Bombardier)

Nice designs but you have to keep it simple, the simpler the better. These cars have to be painted every 10 years and that takes a lot of paint and man hours [sorry ladies]. If you look at the buses there are only 3 colours...red,black and white......the light gray has been left out. By not...

TTC: Flexity Streetcars Testing & Delivery (Bombardier)

Well considering the real RED ROCKET name belongs to streetcars not subways I see no reason why not to use it, but seriously this whole thing with naming streetcars and subways is really stupid. The vehicles are called by their series name ie: H5,H6,T1,CLRV, ALRV and the last but not least PCC...

The latest news is the TR trains will be here around August, with a few months of testing by us the trains should be in revenue service by either December or early January.

    TTC moving headquarters

The management numbers have gone up while union jobs have actually gone down. In Harvey Shop for every 3 workers there is a Foreperson, these guys are tripping over themselves trying to catch workers doing something wrong so they can justify their jobs. About 10 years ago we only had around 10...

    TTC moving headquarters

There has been talk about covering up Davisville Yard and building condos, office space above the yard. Also not sure if present TTC headquarters might fall under as a historic building so it can not be touched or modified

    TTC moving headquarters

This is an old topic and has been in plans for the last few years. The building on St Clair/Avenue might be the Ministry of Environment....but you never heard it from me

TTC: Lower Bay Station (closed to public)

They could be heading any where, its a big system but I'm guessing they are doing work on the BD line. We have work crews also at Wilson Yard as well. Next time you are near Davisville you will see an extra 2 trailers which are for the work crews working around Eglinton.

TTC: Lower Bay Station (closed to public)

I assume that the work trains heading back and forth from Greenwood to the Yonge line worksite north of Eglinton every evening are passing through Lower Bay every day ... Actually most of the work cars come from Davisville Yard. If any work cars do travel from Greenwood Yard its an easy...

    Bike Transit

Hardly the first example of pigheadedness coming from the ttc. If you read the article it mentions how the Staff were against this idea from the start. It was not our idea but a pilot project by one of the Commissioners and we all know who he is. From day one most of us at work said it was a...

TTC: Lower Bay Station (closed to public)

First it is never going to be used, it was a bad idea back then and it still is. Second Transit Control does not like using it. Thirdly......whats with the fascination about Lower Bay? Its just another station like all the other ones.

Since the Sheppard line only uses 4 car trains the new TR can not be used up there. Besides Greenwood Carhouse is going to be responsible for the Sheppard line, they will only have T1 trains available to them so that means Sheppard is going to be using the T1 trains. We will be having plenty of...
