Well you're definitely entitled to your opinion, but I respectfully disagree. In the past we've been way too accommodating with allowing our historic buildings to be redeveloped, with varying results. I don't feel an old building needs to be a neo-gothic or art deco masterpiece to warrant...

Could you imagine the masterpiece if he and EFG combined their talents?

I agree, especially since it's a 1909 building they want to demolish. I'm fine with reimagining (ala Beljan) spaces, but not razing them. We're a young city, and we need to preserve and respect our historic resources.

If anything, at least there's more of a chance of this getting built. As much as I loved the previous iteration, the scale just didn't seem realistic for our market especially for that particular site. I like the accents on the podium, the tower is OK, seems a bit safe to me.

I think we need to get a posse together and run Ed Gooch out of town on a rail, colonial style. Tar and feathers will be optional.

I agree, I wish more of our suburban condos looked like this one.

Man, I still love that parkade so much. I really really hope it sets a precedent for some of the other concrete parking structures we have downtown if they decide to re-do them.

Is there plans to clad the exterior of the original building? Or is the painted concrete all we're getting?

Was one of those typical Prairie summer storms, except this time instead of lasting only a half hour or so, this one went for 2-3 hours. Not uncommon for stuff to flood then unfortunately.

It looks amazing, so happy to have a developer like Beljan in our city.

I'm not asking for Jim Der levels of colour here, but something other than black and white would be nice for a change.

It would look fine with a re-skin, IMO.
