    Edmonton | The Grand | ?m | 3s | Planworks

It might be blank but given the heritage look of the building it would be sweet to see a mural painted or an "old style" advertisement done.

    Edmonton | Mackenzie Tower | 111.86m | 34s | Urban Capital | LEMAYMICHAUD

The colour choice is perfect, I love it.

    Edmonton | 9955 Jasper Avenue | 105m | 34s | Great Gulf | a—A

I just really hope Great Gulf picked an architect that understands a little better what our market is like as far as floor plans go. I wouldn't want this turning into another like Lamb's "Jasper House".

    Edmonton | West Block | 60.35m | 16s | Beaverbrook | GEC

I honestly can't wait to see the podium. It looks great in the renders and I really think it will tie everything together nicely.

    Edmonton | 9955 Jasper Avenue | 105m | 34s | Great Gulf | a—A

Well at least we know with Great Gulf being in control now that something will actually get done.

    Edmonton | Manchester Square | ?m | 2s | 76 Group Co | Gardner Architecture

Thankfully this will still have to go through EDC, though they have let some crap go through in recent years.

    Edmonton | The View | 76m | 23s | Westrich Pacific | Chris Dikeakos

I like the tower portion of this render way better, however the base of the original render looked a little more appropriate for a tower that doesn't have a podium per se.

    Edmonton | The Shift | 113.08m | 38s | Edgar | MCM Partnership

Looking forward to seeing the design on this one!
  9. M

    Edmonton | Mackenzie Tower | 111.86m | 34s | Urban Capital | LEMAYMICHAUD

So if I'm correct, this will be the first Alt+ Hotel outside of Montreal (Brossard). Feels nice to be a bit exclusive!!

    Edmonton | The Artisan | 31.09m | 8s | Kota Contracting | DER + Associates

Gives me hope for what he's planning for the old BMO site.
  11. M

    Edmonton | Capital | 42.97m | 12s | Strategic Group | KENNEDY

I'm wondering how this got past EDC?
  12. M

    Calgary | New Central Library | ?m | 6s | Calgary Library | Snøhetta

She's an absolute beaut. Can't wait to see it in person, very jealous.
  13. M

    Edmonton | Mackenzie Tower | 111.86m | 34s | Urban Capital | LEMAYMICHAUD

    D'oh! I should've looked closer. Thanks Dave.
  14. M

    Edmonton | Mackenzie Tower | 111.86m | 34s | Urban Capital | LEMAYMICHAUD

Also, this is exciting as hell. This is Edmonton's time, finally!
  15. M

    Edmonton | Mackenzie Tower | 111.86m | 34s | Urban Capital | LEMAYMICHAUD

So if this is being designed by LEMAYMICHAUD, you think this is gonna be an Alt Hotel? They have done the designs for all of their buildings (IIRC) in Canada.
  16. M

    Edmonton | West Block | 60.35m | 16s | Beaverbrook | GEC

I'm looking forward to the podium getting some glass. That'll transform that whole corner.
  17. M

    Edmonton | Jasper House | 121.91m | 36s | Lamb Dev Corp | a—A

The floor plans sucked and it was too expensive. I feel he was too bullish thinking he knew it all. Edmonton and Toronto are two different markets. We're most definitely a high rise condo market, we just like well-designed condos appropriate for our city and lifestyle. Hence the reason why...

    Edmonton | Manchester Square | ?m | 2s | 76 Group Co | Gardner Architecture

Well, at least the people who bought into the Venetian will have a place to shop now that'll feel like home.
  19. M

    Edmonton | Connect Centre | 56.3m | 16s | ONE Properties | DIALOG

I'm no developer, so I have no idea about how these things work or the costs involved. But I'd sooner take a 50 metre tower and an amazing podium over anything regarding height. They've got one chance to get this square right, and I'm not optimistic about how this is going to turn out.
  20. M

    Edmonton | Emerald Tower | 153.61m | 45s | Regency Developments | DER + Associates

I'm definitely a fan of how they treated the glass on the upper portion of the podium for the parking garage, it looks great compared to the original render. The CRU's on the bottom though look very plain in the images provided.
