Any news if there will be additional density here? I always thought that those townhouses should be replaced with something else...

What a nice view. Southport square and this project will probably block some of it, but when everything is built here, in HBS and South Swansea, you will have quite an urban surrounding!

If they would fix the access to the lake and river and if there is a direct trail to the lake following Swansea side of Humber, I would be ok if they are building 3 super talls 🙂

I was counting the same thing 😂 It will be an interesting addition to the skyline!

    TTC: Jane (LRT) RapidTO

So frustrating to see such maps in 2020s! I'll leave a link below: https://www.ontario.ca/page/towards-greater-golden-horseshoe-transportation-plan-discussion-paper The good thing is that the government is asking for public to comment this future plan and if many of us voice our opinion that...

    TTC: Jane (LRT) RapidTO

The document is mentioning an Ontario Line loop and there are some speculations on other threads here that the old Waterfront rout is the South part of that loop. Whereas, the Northern part goes to Person Airport. That is why I included both options in my post above, just in case. Although, I...

    TTC: Jane (LRT) RapidTO

Based on the newly shared map by the Ontario government. Looks like Jane LRT is back on the table!? Looks like that there will still not be a connection to the Waterfront (and possibly Ontaro line extension or Waterfront LRT, which one of the two is hard to tell from the low resolution map)

I thought that OL western extension would follow the GO corridor and via South Kingsway connect to Jane where it would continue north along Jane street. But this looks like a Jane LRT revival with no connection to the Waterfront!? Such a strange "napkin drawing"

I think you're right. The missing part is under the rail and not Gardiner. Thanks for the correction

Don't get me wrong. I agree that a lot of improvements can be done. There are few additional improvements I would like to see as well. Like being able to access the Waterfront following Humber river. Currently, there is a small part (under Gardiner I believe), that is not accessible. This...

Humber river and Ormskirk Park are just few minutes from this site. Waterfront is really close as well, although the walk to it could be nicer. Rennie park and Swansea Field are just by the school, which is also walking distance. I wouldn't say that it's a long walk to High Park either. But...

how long until toronto surpasses chicago on skyscrapers?

That's amazing! Would we be able to see this kind of information for GTA, as a whole and individual cities/municipalities, or just Toronto? Is it to much work to split Pre-construction (proposals) into more categories, such as proposed and approved/ proposed not approved yet?

how long until toronto surpasses chicago on skyscrapers?

Thanks for sharing! It would be great to have 150m+ category also, as this is the definition CTBUH is using.

This is the part of Toronto with the most park area in the city! What this neighborhood doesn't have is retail which impacts the walk score. I agree that public realm could be designed better and that more retail was lost from the old plaza than it is gained with this project, but that is a...

I'm surprised that there is no push for additional density here, in the light of everything proposed around Mimico GO station!?

    Toronto Toronto | 598 The Queensway | 15.24m | 4s | Queensvalley Properties | GG

Unfortunately, looks like there will be no retail here :( So narrow minded by our city planners. Queensway will most likely get better transit at some point in time and the development, retail options and density should be in line with that.

    Toronto Toronto | Rail Deck Development | 239.43m | 72s | LIUNA | Sweeny &Co

Looks like all options are on the table at this point. I agree that this project doesn't seem to be profitable and that raises a lot of questions. Maybe, after some negotiations, they will cut down on the number of towers, but the city will pay for the part of the park. Who knows... I just...
