9th street is going to be a decent little stretch once all the construction is done. It's too bad there wasn't a resto with patio attached to the community centre.

19K is a good solid number. It doesn't need to be more than that, but less than 18K is too small IMO.

The one difference would be that there are houses in behind the buildings that would be on the north side of 33rd, whereas there are more buildings in behind the buildings on north side of 34thave. That said, 4 storeys on the north side of 33rd shouldn't be a shadow problem. Maybe even 5 storeys.

Can't say I disagree with that. I've always preferred the low rise feel of a main street with density in behind, but that's just my opinion. I am happy that it's being kept to at least 6 stories and not 8, 10 or 12, etc.. My own preference would be that all of 33rd was lined with buildings...

    Urban Development and Proposals Discussion

It seems so. I haven't heard anything either way, but with this latest proposal coming out, it make me think RNDSQR Block is on the backburner.

All the construction sites have been quiet due to the cold. I passed by Dorian and there was nobody on site.

The gray brick on the podium looks great. I'm not a fan of the beige multi-colored brick.

I could get behind that. It would make a nice little transit run from Bridgeland to Sunalta.

I can’t wait see more of the metal panels.

    Calgary Restaurant Thread

I noticed a sign saying Moose Mcguire's is moving to 14th street and Northmount where the Riverstone pub used to be.

    US Politics

I can't wait to see that asshat lose the election. TBH I didn't hate him when he was running the first time. It was a toss up of who I liked less, Hillary or Donald. I thought Trump might actually be a fresh of fresh air, but he's been a disaster. The longer he's in there the more I dislike him.

10th is touch and go. It feels close to turning in the right direction. A couple more developments and some more businesses and it could take off. 800 and some units, will also be a nice density boost to those businesses.

The first page of the thread has been updated with the latest renderings. Yep, PBR, and at grade CRUs.

    Urban Development and Proposals Discussion

Agreed. It's nice to see the neighborhoods in the inner city thriving during a bad economy. Bridgeland, Mission, Kensington and Inglewood are all alive with new projects, as is the Beltline. A testament to a constantly improving inner city.

What brought you to this site?

SSP was already going downhill ( due to some morons who’s names I won’t mention) but after Surreal and Chaddillac and some others left it went downhill super fast. All the other good contributors are here now, so it’s like SSP back when it was good.

lol. Since I don’t mind the tower portion I’m good with it.

    Calgary | Courtyard 33 | 21.64m | 6s | RNDSQR | 5468796 Architecture

My only complaint is that the courtyard entrance wasn’t a bit wider. Other than that so far it’s looking good.

    General Construction Updates

I missed this post from a few years back. I take it nothing has been happening with this? Too bad, it would be a nice density boost for the area.
