Excavation started a couple days ago (Monday 14 Jan) with delivery of equipment and excavation along the sidewalk.

At least the walkway hoarding is down on Queen. That sidewalk is way too narrow as it is.

They are pretty much finished paving the parking lot.

Too early to tell how it will be at street-level, but I am hoping for some interesting retail to help (long shot I know). The orange is a very nice contrast to the white.

FWIW there was a soil testing rig working the parking lot today.

On Monday of this week there was a soil testing drill set up in the parking lot just south of the existing construction. Did not have my phone with me, otherwise I would have taken a photo.

Correct. The building at the NE corner of Jarvis and Dundas was the Unemployment Insurance building.
