9th ave or 5th ave is is a more ideal candidate for a cycle track than 8th ave.

I could see the concerns if the proposal was an 8-storey bunker...but it's not.

I kind of like the existing houses that are used for commercial use. They're kind of cute. I wish the Mcdonald's, KFC's and Pop Eye's on 17th could be replaced instead.

Holy Shit! I can't believe this one is being protested. 5 stories on a 'main street' is more than reasonable. I think the design is beautiful. Oh well, I guess beauty is subjective.

I remember that the development one block to the south(I think it's called 20/20 or something) stood vacant for several years with boarding around it. I remember the CA was furious with the developer.

I'm a little disappointed. I wish they could redevelop that entire area of Bridgeland with a mast planned street layout similar to East Village or West Village.

I agree. I never really held the same visceral hate for that building that everyone else did on this forum. My biggest complaint was that there were no balonies and the steps leading up to the CRU's created a weird streetscape. BTW, I like your username Benjamin.

It's quite easy. The people that want brutalist buildings destroyed today have the same mind set as the people that destroyed the pre-WW1 era buildings.
