Looks like I need to find a new parking lot now. I would park there occasionally when I needed to park near our office. That's ok though I'am all in favour of filling in those above ground parking lots.

Having worked on a project by Cresford I would say not impressed with them, but having said that I concur with wannabeplanner, they know what buyers pay attention too and will give them the bells and whistles.

"...In the clear recessionary morning, all that stuff we’ve been binge buying suddenly looks gaudy and ridiculous. It’s been a 25-year blur of fluorescent Frankie Sez shirts, logo handbags, Hummers and ring tones. We need to have one giant national garage sale and invite the world. Stainless...

    Toronto Toronto | Casa | 147.52m | 46s | Cresford | a—A

Not worried, people will evetually see the light of day (stainless steel are commercial kitchen appliances, ugly anywhere else). People once thought suburban homes in back with garages pushed way out front was a great idea too. I see they don't design much of those anymore now that they filled...

Love the balconies, look at the buildings to the left..no balconies and to the right ... is that a balcony squeezed in there at the precast beside the brick beside the glass ... now that is terrible! and stainless steel appliances .... appliances should blend in with the cabinet colour not...

Toronto Toronto | St Regis Toronto Hotel and Residences | 281.93m | 58s | JFC Capital | Zeidler

This would all depend on what the permit drawings show. Assuming they sent the city revised drawings to show the lower floor count they would need to revise the permit drawings again to show the building with more floors.

    Toronto Toronto | Four Eleven King Condominiums | 149.04m | 45s | Great Gulf | KPMB

The base would need to be temporary so they could tear it down to build the parking garage below. There is no way the owner would build a multi story under ground parking garage, for a future tower. It just doesn't make economic sense, unless of course there is a huge demand for parking in the...

Good it's chunky, it can support Crystal Blue when tips over from a strong South wind

I don't understand Mr Hume's opinion lately, first he supported a tower at One Bloor then said it should be a park, now he is saying a one story building at King and Spadina doesn't make sense? His opinions are not making sense.

Looks like a nice unit, I personally hate stainless steel appliances but I understand this is what they put in. Very nice wood cabinets and then the jarring effect of siver(colour) appliances just don't get it.

Your rant seems to ignore the reality of retail development. The 'owner' owns the building only in most cases and the space is leased out to McDonald's, Shopper's Drug Mart etc.. who have 'standards' for how their stores look. The owner (of the building) can try and dictate some design guide...

I don't think it's odd, I find the buildings never look as good as the company's render.

Yeah but this one is fantasy, the previous (above) will be what it actually will look like.

King West to be the next Yorkville? TIFF to make it go upscale?

Ahhh yes so much better now with all the after hours clubs... where you have a good chance of getting shot...

That's copper that has oxidized, it turns green when exposed to the elements.

    Toronto Toronto | Maple Leaf Square | 185.92m | 54s | Lanterra | KPMB

Who's comparing adults and teens? I was using teens at a mall as an example of the point that people do go places just to be seen which you don't seem to think happens. You don't think adults do this???? You have never seen the ego driven males with the big SUV and the trophy wife (real or paid...

    Toronto Toronto | Maple Leaf Square | 185.92m | 54s | Lanterra | KPMB

You're kidding right!! So the groups of teens at mall in groups of 10 or so are there for a specific purpose? I would be surprised if even one of them bought anything. Of course people go to a place to be seen or in the case of older folk just to walk around but not actually do anything.

Yeah I would be suprised if he new unless he asked a G.G representative because there is usually no connection between the contractor and Architect other than they were hired for the same project. Meaning the contractor would not generally know what is going in the architects office.
