Well for one, they certainly didn't block the view of downtown from my house. Second, close out any natural sunlight...from my house. Third, disallow any satellite signals...from my house. Not to mention everybody else around here. Taller buildings in the Yorkville area basically have...

I took a drill bit to my last belt, on the INSIDE, because I'm losing weight. See, I wear sweats around the house. Heh. I read recently that a chocolate milk is much like a protein shake. In any case, I love the stuff.

Yeah apparently the Thuna scale was abused and wasn't working for some time. I forget where I saw that post, but I drove past it and indeed it was gone.

Was that scale not the scale on the Danforth at the herbal medicine location, up until recent? Thuna?

I think that's what they meant, myself knowing them.

See that's the concern. Eleven stories, is eight more than they are allowed now. It would completely eclipse a seven year old project right behind it. Sync is on the DVP and Queen Street. This new location, is nowhere near such an intersection. So for local residents, it is not nice...

A new sign just went up for streetcar.ca. They are selling lofts. Not sure what they are going to do with this space. Any takers on what is going to happen here?

I will pass this information on to the person who gave it to me. I'm sure she would be interested in what you have done. She too is working on a re-worked version. Cheers

From what I understand that intersection had some City incentives for big names to come into the hood during the re-design of that strip there. Looks like a bank. So is Giovanni's (The Nose) as is The Real Jerk.

Map of York A friend gave me this small version of a map she found. Ironically, it was in Montreal. It's a map of York, not Toronto. And there is no date on it, and she feels bad. Anybody have any dirt on this map of ... dirt? It's mostly showing farm plots back then, and gives an...

Wow, super picture. And that building north on Sumach. I don't remember that. And no Gardiner.

Also I forgot to mention. The distillery district also had breweries. All had spent grains which go to cattle and hogs. I should know this as I'm a brewer. I heard there were penstocks south of the rail lands by the Lever plant. And we come full circle with the same picture. Well done...

Ironically when you posted, I was at Prohibition, 2 doors West of The Broadview Hotel. Also, I was talking about this thread, etc. Mere meters from the focus. The Eastern Ave bridge is still there, but us Leslievillains know that everything west of the River and South of Queen/King is gone...

I saw that spire, but it was too small to pass any judgement, from my experience. That could very well be the Lever Bros plant location. Not sure what to really look for. Leslieville had a lot of by-product industry down here, so I wouldn't be surprised if there was a kill site here. Not...

Does anybody recognize this picure: http://www.hardyfoods.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/04/Hardys_Page_1.jpg I want to find out if it was in Leslieville. Most of the hogs were processed by that one family apparently, and they did so down here in LV. Cheers

I would say the same. c. 1966. I was born at East General, lived in Thorncliffe Ave which is just North of there by 2 blocks, and West 2 blocks. Up until around 1975 that SW Broadview & Danforth lot was empty, before they put up that red brick old folks home. They used to have a small...
