    Roads: Ontario/GTA Highways Discussion

Any detour for the 401 in that stretch is likely going to be longer than sticking out the delay caused by road work. The highway cuts up a diagonal with only 3 exits in 30 km (238/250/268) and not necessarily an easy path between them.

The usefulness of that sign would be better if it said times to downtown Toronto rather than Guelph/Hamilton. Congestion starts at 6/Lincoln Alexander.

^ to be honest, it will always be the SkyDome to many (myself included), regardless of who owns the naming rights

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

It looks like they are extending platforms 2/3 to the east at Bramalea.

Are they waiting for the Bay concourse to be open before finishing the glass over the east moat? It's been like that for a while now.

Roads: Highway 7 North Kitchener-Guelph New Freeway Build

The Victoria street bridge is being rebuilt this year and clearing of vegetation along the route is occurring.

TTC: Flexity Streetcars Testing & Delivery (Bombardier)

I've seen tweets announcing delays due to track construction in Guelph. Good to hear this is happening. Albeit not the part that really needs upgrades, but better than nothing. Guesses as to what impact this would have on travel times when complete?

^ That map negates much of the value of the Niagara escarpment and any attempt to pave through there would elicit a very loud negative response.

    2018 Provincial Election Transit Promises

That is my hope as well. There are actually some reasonable conservative MPs that have a chance at cabinet. Let's hope they temper the more ludicrous proposals that were floated during the campaign into something a bit more reasonable.

High Speed Rail: London - Kitchener-Waterloo - Pearson Airport - Toronto

HFR is only as good as the quality of the track it runs on. Hourly trains from Kitchener to Union that still take over 2 hours one way aren’t of much use when you can drive the same trip in less than that at most times of day.

    2018 Provincial Election Transit Promises

Current Transportation Critic is Michael Harris who was recently discredited due to a sexting scandal (only to be replaced by Mike Harris Jr. as the local candidate).

^ On a computer, you can typically select all / copy and paste in a text editor, but I'm not fast enough on mobile to get it.

    VIA Rail

Didn't the Sarnia train at one point go via Woodstock, at least for one of the trips? The slowest part of that trip is now between Kitchener and London, with the last schedule I looked at suggesting it can take 2 hours to travel the relatively short distance.

    VIA Rail

There is space in the ROW to Sarnia where a second track once ran / could be laid, but it would involve investment to return to functionality. Not likely CN is interested in doing that, otherwise they wouldn't have removed it in the first place. It's a fairly straight shot with minimal grade...

    Roads: Ontario/GTA Highways Discussion

Outside of the GTA, Waterloo Region has a plethora of roundabouts, many of them multi-lane and many on major thoroughfares. For the most part, they seem to work, although there are always those who use the wrong lanes, don't yield to those already in the roundabout, drive too fast, and the...

Some airline-specific lounges around the world are open 24/7 and have facilities like that, but you have to pay the extra $$$ to gain access. Icelandair in Reykjavik comes to mind.

Waterloo Region Transit Developments (ION LRT, new terminal, GRT buses)

Ion launch has been pushed back to December 2018 with the 14th vehicle slated to arrive in June. Supposedly 505 and 506 are ready for pickup or will be very soon.

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

GO's new website has emerged from beta. Thankfully they seem to have gotten the message the PDF schedules are useful to their customers (https://www.gotransit.com/en/trip-planning/seeschedules/full-schedules) using links that can persist across schedule changes even.
