Hmm while I like the additional height, I don't like the change from office space to residential space. Office space will help give the area some weekday vibrancy. I understand why they did it though.

Love the concept and scale, perfect for what Kensington needs.

No problem. Those renders really show the potential for that currently underutilized corridor .. Adding LRT is a coup for it and should help push developments like the Tigerstedt Block into the fold. A great looking development, good scale.

http://www.calgary.ca/Transportation/TI/GreenLineDocuments/crescent-heights-tuxedo-park-tod-workshop-display-boards-oct-2016.pdf Pages 9 and 10 are the good ones Here is a link to the webpage where I got the PDF from .. I'm sure it's got more goodies on it if you want to research into it more...

    Calgary | Arris - 5th and Third | 142.03m | 41s | Embassy Bosa | Amanat Architect

That is a big hole in the ground. Hopefully this development pans out well .. It's a pretty prime, visible location and will be a cornerstone of the EV with the grocery store going on the main level.

    General Construction Updates

From what I've heard retail uses in that location are hard to incorporate since typically retail has access/loading at the rear of the building - with the lots backing up on the tracks it makes it difficult to access. That leaves office use (which would be unlikely for awhile in this economy)...

    Calgary | New Central Library | ?m | 6s | Calgary Library | Snøhetta

Between the NCL, N3, and the Hilton that is a lot of white coloured cladding in one area

    General Construction Updates

Assuming this is the case, that's averaging about 350 units per tower - I would guess that even if they could only get 3 towers approved with those similar unit counts we would be looking at something taller than the Guardian. Very exciting to say the least. That corridor seems the most...

    Calgary | The Block on 4th | ?m | 4s | Indevelopments

I think it's on 4th St in the Mission area where the Peking Dragon restaurant currently sits.

    Calgary | Residence Inn by Marriott | 127.10m | 36s | GWL | IBI Group

I like that it's not just one podium for both towers

    Calgary | West 17 | 35.05m | 10s | Truman | NORR

Love seeing these developments pop up on this part of 17th

    Calgary | ALT Hotel | ?m | 11s | Groupe Germain | LEMAYMICHAUD

I'm hopeful that it has the same cladding as the Montreal one (the top picture in my last post). The black/white look is similar to the one we'll see in Calgary, and if the cladding is the same I think it will look great

    Calgary | ALT Hotel | ?m | 11s | Groupe Germain | LEMAYMICHAUD

I recall driving past and noticing the Alt Hotel near Pearson in Toronto, and I recall it looked solid in person. If they're consistent in the materials used and/or quality of we should have another nice looking building in the EV. Attached are photos of the Montreal and Toronto Alt:

I heard that they are going ahead with the res tower

Calgary | CalgaryNEXT | Urban District Redevelopment Plan

That location in the East Village presents a greater chance that the City is willing to contribute public money into the development, over the West Village. Also much less infrastructure work.

Calgary | CalgaryNEXT | Urban District Redevelopment Plan

On Hockey Night in Canada right now, Hrudey just had an update on the new arena. It's nothing more than discussion but an interesting tidbit was that while King and the Flames want to build it in the West Village, it's the City's preference that it's built in the East Village. Perhaps the...

    General Construction Updates

Not sure if I've seen these renders been posted, but along with their proposed development on the tail end of the Red Mile at 14th/17th, Arlington Street Developments is aggressively building up 17th Ave ... They've purchased the lots across from Tomkins Park and are proposing this (Royal Park)...

    Calgary | 707 Fifth Street | 124.35m | 27s | Manulife Real Estate | SOM

Damn this one looks sharp .. Beating a dead horse here, but it would have been more incredible had it been taller!

^ And RioCan's development with the Loblaws going in there - transformative indeed
