    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

While I commend you for spending your valuable personal time on this large assessment of data and agree that growth hasn't occured much since installation, as a project manager for large volume moving projects typically "months" wouldn't be a valuable measure of time to assess the effectiveness...

    General railway discussions

Not sure if this is the right thread...but figured I'd throw it in here. It's not really being reported in the media but it should be. https://www.freightwaves.com/news/teamsters-canada-warns-rail-strike-looms-over-pay-hours-at-cn-cpkc Industry insiders are reporting (preparations are...

    Toronto Pearson International Airport

I agree that Aeroplan points are a huge plus but Aeroplan and Uber have an agreement. If you link your Aeroplan to Uber it's 2 pts for every $1 spent. The same ratio earned with the CIBC Aeroplan credit card for Air Canada Purchases. All the other benefits outweigh using an Uber for sure though

Didn't capture a picture but there is now an office trailer and excavator on sight moving around dirt. Has been there for about week with constant activity. Small crew as well. In sadder news Barocco X Nino across the street is closed as their lease has ended and they try to find a new spot...

I was at Wrestlemania 18 way back in 2002. The last time WWE hosted an event there. Great times! Granted I was 12. The new update especially the upper deck bars would be a rowdy place with a WWE crowd. Bring it back!

To be fair Fort York (established 3 years before Battlefield House, the Battle of York also happening 2 months before the Battle of Stoney Creek although with a less favourable result for the British) in Toronto is surrounded by a highway, train tracks and dozens of massive condo buildings and I...

High Immigration and the Housing Crisis

Chris is correct in that it is both a supply and demand issue. If we close the borders we would still need to build more housing and prices wouldn't magically go down if immigration stopped. How do we eliminate the increase in demand? Provide more supply. Other options: wait until the boomers...

It was a cool story. Thank you. Ultimately the "made in china" products come down to cost. I for one would prefer we stock more made in Canada products however the general population cares more for cost of goods rather than quality and CT is a company aimed at the general population. It is for...

@Admiral Beez Read your reply in my email but can't see it here. For what it's worth, you're not wrong. I make sure my team and I spend as much time as possible in our stores and we are quite far removed from store operations. I'm often in store 3-4 times a week on my own time asking questions...

This, unfortunately, is the weakness of some of the Merchandising team and it is a shame. I will say there are a few who are experts. Having worked with most of them, The Auto Category Managers are all extreme "car heads" and have only worked in the Auto department, some of them from when they...

As one of those "Pencil pushers" I can confirm to you that is overwhelmingly not the case. However, with a franchisee model, it is incredibly difficult to get 500 store Dealers to follow every single directive that us at head office give to them. They are free (for the most part) to go to any...

    Toronto Bike Share

Fair. Was just a guess. Most of Toronto roads are unbikeable anyways. If they started considering bike share locations based on how hostile the roads are we'd have like 5 stations. Probably more to make it seem like "King is for Everyone" so let's toss some bike stations around it.

    Toronto Bike Share

My guess is they want to provide people from other areas of the city with more options to bike TO or FROM King not necessarily ON it.

    Toronto Toronto | Art Shoppe Condos | 98.75m | 28s | Freed | a—A

The logic of floor number matching the unit numbers makes sense as that's how it is in majority building. Every condo I've been in with different sized floors still counts the floors and not the stories. If the second level is 25 feet above the first it is still counted as the second floor. The...

So the elevators are going to have a button for G then 2 or 3 then 6? I thought floors were counted by the actual floor and not the stories that floor takes up.

They probably recognize that the location isn't ideal after putting it on the market so instead of risking stores shutting down every 6 months you provide an opportunity to showcase lesser known brands for a short period of time. There are probably a fair number of small online businesses that...

Union as pretty much made that location their defacto pop up location. Hence the name Union spaces. This location will be a rotating variety of pop up shops for the foreseeable future https://torontounion.ca/news/union-spaces-pop-up/ " Come back every month or so to find out which brand is...

A month ago was that major April ice storm followed by a week of rain. I would have set May 1st as a date for all fountains to go on as weather is less likely to be as drastic as it was in April this year

    Canadian Tire

Exactly. CT owns the building and the store owner owns the inventory. In their mind, the more inventory the owner fills his store with the more he can sell. Unfortunately too much inventory can be a bad thing. The better run stores leverage their space and present their inventory much more...

    Canadian Tire

The issue with a lot of the CT Stores is that the layout is dependant on what the dealer (store owner) wants. A lot of the dealers are also in an older age bracket and what you will start to see is a shift in the overall presentation of the stores as older dealers reach retirement and new...
